Yeah you pretty much can't go past GoToWebinar.com for ease of use for you, ease of use for your webinar participants, and overall functionality. Andrew |

Yikes. $99 for gotowebinar and $49 for gotomeeting. Any cheaper ideas? Someone mentioned Zoho to me and I see they are cheaper but I don't know about functionality. |

Take a look at DimDim Dimdim: Web conferencing that just works. Dimdim provides easy, open, affordable collaboration. Use for online meetings, eLearning, desktop sharing, training, distance education, unified collaboration, webinar, free web meetings and more. Their recording capabilities are a bit hit or miss, but the pricing is better AND attendees don't have to install anything on their computers, which is a biggie for non-technical niches. I'd be happy to give more details if you want to contact me by PM Tink |

Use for online meetings, eLearning, desktop sharing, training, distance education, unified collaboration, webinar, free web meetings and DimDim is FREE for up to 20 people DimDim Pro is for up to 50 people, has a Free 30 day trial, and then is $25/month DimDim Webinar is for up to 100 people has a Free 30 day trial, and then is $75/month Here is the link but you might not be able to see it without being logged in: https://estore.dimdim.com/user/compa...gradeSourceId= From my research, GotoWebinar.com Is for up to 1000 people and costs $99/month or $948.00 if paid annually From my research, it appears that WebEx Is for up to 25 participants, offers a 14 day free trial and is $49/month Because of how the different companies package and price their options, it is difficult to compare apples to apples. Now the obvious point is that there is a big difference between 50 or 100 attendees and 1000 attendees... But from my experience and observations, it will take quite a while build up a need for over 100 attendees, and by that time you should have been able to monetize things so that you can afford to pay for the more expensive services. Meanwhile, you can be taking action and starting to build the customer base using the less expensive service. ;-) I chose DimDim because I could have up to 20 participants for free (while I was building demand) and participants don't have to install anything on their computers (good for my niches). I'll probably upgrade in DimDim then later on reevaluate my options. Needless to say, we all need to make the decisions that are best for ourselves and our businesses. Your mileage may vary... Tink |

Wow, thanks for that recommendation. 20 participants is more than enough for me at the moment! I'll check out Dimdim. |

I have used the free version of dimdim successfully for over a year without a problem.... Unfortunately, I have been using my telus landline where I have unlimited long distance calls to US and Canada. Unfortunately, the area code of dimdim 218 is no longer supported in my plan.. But it has been a fabulous service for free. Now I am wondering what I should do....

I just tried out dimdim and had major problems. We had one presenter and two observers. Couldn't all use mikes but even when two of us shut them off, we couldn't see the slides that the presenter was presenting. Any ideas why this could be happening?

One on one, I use Skype for audio so we can both talk. I turn off the DimDim audio. I haven't need to try doing a conference call on Skype. After much experimentation, I now show my powerpoint by converting it to PDF and then viewing it on my computer using the Screen share option (I don't remember exactly what they call it)... When I tried upload the slide show as either a powerpoint or PDF, things didn't want to work correctly (I don't remember the details, it was several months ago) I think the file size may have been an issue... (the powerpoint had 70-80 slides IIRC) It did take several days of experimenting for me to determine the best options for my situation... The other thing to consider is using Skype to share screens. It seems to be a new feature. I couldn't get it to work but I think that was because my laptop has no camera, but if everybody has camera ability, it might work in a conference call format. We've been thinking about switching from GoToWebinar over to iLinc : iLinc > Web and Video Conferencing > Online Meetings > Virtual Training > Webinars > eLearning Has anyone had any experience with it either as a customer of it or just as a user attending a webinar and if so what did you like and what didn't you? Thanks. |

I have tried many many webinar software companies and GoToWebinar is by far the best. I have not tried another one that hasn't resulted in problems at some point. If your webinar is important and impression is important I would suggest paying for the GoToWebinar. What I tend to do is pre-arrange a webinar series and then get a 1 month membership and cancel it (as I don't need it all the time) and then do the series over the course of 1 month. |

| I tested it during the initial launch a few months ago. The "recording" feature sucks. It records your entire screen....not the presentation. I also had serious lag problems. Participants were getting the slides and screencasts a few minutes after I showed them. You get what you pay for. Not recommended. |
