Your Thoughts on WP Robot

I was looking at the WP Robot software today and while it is $140 it seems to be a great price for what it can do.

I was hoping some WF members have had experience with this already... I would love to hear your feedback.

Thanks to everyone!!!

I would like to know as well

I've been seeing a lot of ads for it an it looks like a really useful tool to have.

but is it worth the $140?

The problem with this kind of tool is only one: duplicated and unreadable content
    Then, they are amazing.

You are def. wrong with "unreadable content". I have several autoblogs, and if it pulls an article or video or RSS...its as "readable" as can be.

      Actually, its MORE readable. Why?

For example Articlesbase has become the ugliest MFA site out there, and if a autoblog pulls an article from AB you can finally read it without those ads

I havent tested wp-robot yet, but i have experience with CC, Wpomatic, Yaab, feedwordpress and a bunch of others.

wp-robot looks good, but its a little overprized in my opinion compared to eg. that YAAB (which is also very powerful) is totally free - and wpomatic is free also.

I would especially be interested in what kind of load wp robot puts on servers since in my experience this is one main problem with most autoblog plugins.

(Do me a favor and have like 5-6 WP autoblogs on one server, and then see what massive load those can cause..its crazy..).

Apart from 2 article directories and several static sites I have 5 WP robot autoblogs on my reseller account and 3 that have Amazon autoposter and an isnare article import script and there hasn't been any problem with my server yet.

I started using the free Amazon autoposter about 2 months ago and upgraded to WP Robot last month and am getting Amazon sales with both methods.

For most of my sites I might as well have kept to the free version and the article import script because Ebay and Flickr declined me, the Clickbank products that get pulled in look to be rubbish as are a lot of the Yahoo answers, Youtube videos not always applicable and a lot of the articles WP Robot pulls in are so dire I wouldn't want them on any of my sites.

Fortunately I spotted these problems early on when DVDs and videos of Ibsens Dollhouse were appearing on my doll house furniture site alongside sex toys and the same articles rehashed until you couldn't understand even the titles or the same articles with different titles. As the same happened with my other sites I decided to take the automatic out of the equasion and everything that gets pulled in waits as a draft copy for me to check.

Disappointing because the idea of automation was to save me time while I build more niche blogs.

However, as I care about what goes on my sites semi automation has to be the way forward for me. It takes about 5 - 10 minutes per blog per day to check the incoming content. Once they are established more I can reduce the amount of incoming content and spend even less time checking.

As I was doing that already using the free Amazon autoposter and article import script then I have to ask myself if it was worth paying for the upgrade.

Flickr I am not concerned about because the Amazon images are getting found by Google. Ebay I should apply again with one of my more established sites and that should be worthwhile eventually. Youtube is promising and I think I can gain from that with some ideas I have. Some of the Yahoo answers are creating interest on my sites - one has been linked to at least 20 times during the last week giving me more backlinks.

To me the positives outweigh the negatives and I am glad that I paid for the upgrade. I am making money from the free and paid for versions and it's only fair that the developers get something back for their efforts. The paid for version offers much more scope than the unpaid, but there is nothing to stop anybody from trying out the unpaid version first and them upgrading once they start to see how good it is.

I am running a couple of WP-Robot sites, and I notice the same problems with off-topic articles sometimes. But I must be missing something because I haven't figured out how to get this tool to post into draft mode rather than instant publishing. I've pulled some articles down from my site, but the problem is that my sitemap doesn't seem to get rid of them so Google's crawlers are finding some 404s.

Could you tell me, where is the setting to get WP-Robot to not instantly post?

          Thanks,
          Russ

            Russ,

The setting your are looking for is in the Options section of WP Robot. Click Options on the left menu, then look for the setting called New Post Status near the top of the page. You can choose Published or Draft from the drop-down list.

            Regards,

Great detail but I just grabbed a quick "free" download of this and wasn't too happy to find that it is IMPOSSIBLE to use this tool without it linking to a service that you MUST pay for ( about 350.00 a year or so if I recall correctly )

so "FREE" isn't free at all....

granted it looks rather impressive. the detail they went into to lay it all out shows.... BUT at the end of the day pretty sites don't mean anything and i'm just sick of paying out to get marginal results ( if any )

id like a better way to review this thing before I shell out for it

I use wp-robot and some of the blogs I have that I dont have the time to automate. Sites i will flip in a few months..

I've used it since it came out and I do think that a lot of the modules are very good..

youtube poster -> This is very good and I use it on my blogs
Yahoo answers -> I thought this was a waste of time so disabled it
click bank -> was good initially but laterly seems to pull a lot of irrelevant content so I have disabled this
Amazon -> very good and I still use this one
articlebase -> very good (as long as you set the correct options and use negative keywords)
ebay -> use this one sparingly. I would prefer this to contain a upper and lower limit price of the autions pulled in. To many low priced auctions. I prefer to use the phpbay pro plugin over this module.

I would suggest if you buy to buy only the useful modules and save some cash..

There is no real good spinners out there, when I build autoblogs, I do not care to spin, because why, period, sacrifice readability.

Thats just too much integrity out the window.

Thank you to everyone that gave such detailed opinions. I really appreciate all the feedback. I was not aware that wp-o-matic were free and I never heard of YAAB before. I will definitely check both of those out first.

I am so anxious to find something that is going to help bring in some cash for this holiday season; otherwise there won't be a holiday we can celebrate. If anyone knows an easy way to make a few hundred dollars I am all ears.

      Thanks again to everyone!!!

No regrets...one of the best Autoblogging plugins in the market right now...

It can extract contents from everywhere except RSS feeds of normal blogs...

Hopefully this additional module will be implemented soon....

There are free solutions like WP-O-Matic though.

In fact, I don't understand why someone can spend over $700 for a similar solution out there on the other thread..

WP Robot has everything even the translation module !

Hopefully the creator will maintain the development of WP Robot for as long it is not perfect !

As an owner of WP Robot I have made money and continue to use it on sites like Great Deals Online | Save Money Shop Online | Coupon Codes and others it all comes down to proper keyword selection.

I have started new blogs build around the holiday and Amazon using targeted keywords, model #'s and long tail buyer keywords (get best price or discount coupon for ps3 online for xmas) yeah crazy but when the serps send you traffic that converts and you use your blog tittle to capture keywords go for it.

Next What I do is using rssbot or another software is I send out feeds, once you have a sale (proof) then I would recommend a little link love from article or blog commenting.

with autoblogging people tend to ignore the promotion and that is needed to amp up your value trust me a ton of pages and links can't be beat but one without the other is like only going hunting with one bullet.

Even though I invested in WP Robot try whatever you can and move forward FREE gave me results as well. Maybe the fact that I invested forced me to push harder but I do believe the Free version with link building would have increased my results also.

WPRobot is absolutely the best and most complete autoblogger on the market (the Full Elite version).

Some essential things are missing though:

                -. Post rewriter.
                -. Spun rewriter.
-. The translation module can be better, some translations look worse.
-. The update system can be improved, currently you need to update it via FTP over and over again, wich cost time compared with a 1 click updater from 95% of the Wordpress plugins via the Wordpress adminpanel.

Besides these things that can be changed, WPRobot is absolutely worth the money

WP Robot looks good. I used to use the free Amazon autoposter and it worked well.

My only problem with WP-Robot is that it is supposed to work with Amazon Japan and I've had people test it for me with Japanese text and it does not work. Thomas only tested it with English, apparently. Englsh is useless for Amazon Japan. If they can fix that I will buy it for sure.

                      Hi Hyaku_Man

That should not be an issue.
See the screenshot from my Wordpress panel

You see Japanese as well and you can select Amazon Descriptions and Amazon Reviews to be translated as well.

However, i have not test this but as i already mentioned i must agree that the translation output is often very very bad.

Not only the quality of the translation (that's not due to WPRobot but by Google translate) but also the strange signs when translating to German, Spanish, etc.

                      It's unreadable for a human.

I was kinda wondering about this myself. So far I have tried the 30 trial of mage and then discontinued it. Too much money and not enough readable content in my opinion. I think the WP robot posts are a lot more readable and would take a lot less editing to get them SEO friendly.

One benefit of mage is that it also builds the wordspress site from scratch. but again. quite a bit of money

Just be aware of your server load as it can get high with too many blogs on the one account.
