Link Juice from First Page Sage- What have you heard/experienced?

Hello Warriors,
I am so SO glad I have found the forum. I have been an avid reader on here for a few months now. Anyway- - Here's the scoop -
My employer is looking to enlist the services of firstpagesage.com - The owner of firstpagesage.com has received some buzz from national media for his success with his interactive game site, for making butt-loads of money, 'conquering' google organic, etc..

They now have expanded into SEO Services and have been at that for about 6 months -

Their services are UBER expensive -

Rapid back linking and other flavors of Link Juice can be a hazard so needless to say, I am a bit skeptical.

Who out there has used firstpagesage.com?

Some outside feedback would be greatly appreciated
Thanks Warriors.

I'm a current client. What I can tell you is that they're very good. I was one of the earlier people to start working with them and I was skeptical at first because they do claim to be the best. But as it turns out my site is on the first page of Google for all 4 of my search terms. There was one time where one of the search terms fell off the first page for about two weeks but I talked with them about it and they bumped me back up.

Only other thing I would mention is that they took a bit longer than we agreed upon to do some web design work (but I guess what do you expect when it's a free add-in?) All in all I am very happy and there's a reason I am still paying. You are right that they are expensive but IMO, well worth it.

I heard that guy on the Joey Reynolds show a few nights ago. Seems to know what he's doing. I don't have direct experience tho...

Just wanted to post an update here: I am currently #1 for two of my four search terms, and in the top 5 results for the other two. These are tough terms. These guys are doing a fantastic job.

Will you be doing that swell in a few months though. Some things can boost you right away but are not the most Google friendly way to go about it.

SherryLee, I am thinking of working with this group. I hope you don't mind answering a couple of questions...

    1. How long did it take you to reach the #1 spot?

    2. How much has your traffic increased?

    3. How much has it improved your business?

    4. How is your ROI? Is it better than Adwords?

    5. What kind of new customers have you gotten? A few people who spend a lot, a lot of people who spend a little? From your area or from somewhere totally different? Are they better or worse than your current client base?

    Your answer is much appreciated.

angdeer, I have a basic knowledge of SEO and from my (extensive) conversations with them, everything they are doing is "white hat". Thanks though, you are right it always pays to be vigilant!

Swimmer, glad to help. I can make an e-introduction if you PM me your e-mail address. Anyway, to answer your questions:

    1. About 3 weeks from the time I started working with First Page, 3 of my 4 keywords were on the first page (but at the bottom...like #7 or #8). My fourth keyword was tricky I guess (it's a term that can apply to multiple industries) so it took 5 weeks to reach the first page. After 8 weeks, my site reached #1 for 2 out of my 4 keywords. There has been some shifting in the results (occassionally my #6 result will become a #7 or #5) but I am told this is normal.

    2. The traffic increase has been impressive: about 2x what I was getting before working with First Page. Of course, I wish this traffic converted to 2x the number of clients, but I am quite pleased with the number of clients I have gotten from the SEO work overall..

    3. As I mentioned, it has been a real improvement to my business. My conversion rate is slightly lower on the new traffic than it was before I brought in the SEO due to the fact that they are sending lots of brand new visitors in. But the only thing that matters to me is SALES and the SEO has more than paid for itself in new sales (not even counting repeat customers).

    4. My ROI is better than Adwords by a good amount. I think "organic" visitors are way better than Adwords "paid" visitors. But, truth be told, I still spend some money on Adwords because I think it's effective to run it alongside the SEO.

    5. My customers have really run the gamut... some big spenders, some little ones... the normal spectrum I guess.

Hope this helps. Cheers and happy holidays.

Swimmer, thought I would give an update. Still doing great on my SEO...all terms in top 2 or 3 results. I have started (gingerly now, gingerly...) using them for social media. After all, everybody needs a shingle nowadays, right? Gaining a boatload of Twitter followers each day and, well, to be completely frank, I still barely understand what Twitter is. I'd never use it on my own but I do tweet every day now.

That's great for you. I have heard some really good things about social media marketing and have been reading up on the subject. Thinking to jump in soon... still on the sidelines at this point but getting excited.

Well the neat thing with social media is...it's social. So, where SEO will get you in front of consumers, social media gets you in front of people that are basically hangin' out talking to their buds. It's sort of a different element and it works better for certain types of companies...basically, companies that sell products that people would want to share with their friends - which mine sort of is.

Sherry have you read "The New Influencers: A Marketer's Guide to the New Social Media"? I was reading it on the plane recently and learned a lot. It's a short read and is basically a collection of case studies, examples and interviews demonstrating how folks have used social media to make a mark in their business. I'm a pretty folksy kind of person and a lot of these tech-geek style books out there make my head spin. I like going to classes rather than reading usually because I can get into it better, but this particular book worked for me and I highly recommend it.

No - have not read that. I should pick it up though. My thought is to leave the complex social media theory to the people who do this for a living. I do what I do best, they do what they do best, and the world goes round and round. I must also admit that I do most of my reading on nytimes.com and a few select blogs so my actual-physical-book reading has taken a hit. Anyway, have a good night.

I would be very leery of companies like this. You have to look at the staying power of their "rankings" Take a look at one of their "success stories" they have on their site seen here, toward the bottom: Examples of Our Success - Firstpagesage.com

The site they listed as being number 5 in the search engines for the keyword "games" is no longer on the first page. You can outsource link building, if that's what you want, for a few dollars a week and achieve the same result.

I don't know anything about the company, but I would just like to say that "games" is a crazy competitive keyword and since you are talking about "staying power", for a keyword like that you would need almost daily if not weekly link building efforts to even maintain a top page ranking, plus if you read the success stories page, it says it was just a challenge and not an actual client.

Anyway I just wanted to say that, I have never even heard of the company before, but to achieve a first page, even top 5 ranking for such a keyword is very impressive.

Has anyone heard anything recently about this company?

Looking at their client list I am wondering if there is some misinformation here. Taco Bell is owned by Yum Brands, which also includes Pizza Hut and KFC, I would be inclined to believe that they would use the same SEO company for all brands.

In addition, it seems that Sherry Lee has only made 25 posts in the forum and they are all around the time that she joined the forum. I don't want to be a hater, but it smells a little fishy to me.

I was on Amazon and looked at some of the comments and there were some interesting nuggets in there, including some comments by Jason McDonald who I am very familiar with and respect. There were a few comments about fake reviews as well, but there is always someone with an axe to grind.

I have also read a few other things, but would appreciate some feedback from others.

        Thanks for your help.
