Video Problems With Kodak Zi8

Hi,

I have bought a Kodak Zi8 with the idea of using it in conjunction with Camtasia to create and upload videos to You Tube etc. The quality if the videos is excellent and it has a jack for an external mike.

2 questions,

Am I right in thinking that I cannot use it in place of a webcam to record 'live' on Camtasia ? In other words making a recording and being able to see myself on my monitor at the same time.

If I make a video off line the audio works fine when I play it on the camera but after uploading it to Camtasia the sound disappears. Any thoughts - I've tried everywhere for an answer.
