Micro-Membership WordPress Plugin

Is anyone actually using this?

I just set up a site with it, and I really don't like how it "flows". I also hate the pay page. So far the two people I've asked to walk through it for testing got confused at the registration page (they thought they were ordering a free CD) and didn't know what to do with that page.

Is anyone out there using this successfully? Are there problems with it that I should know about before I do a major launch on my product? With the response of my testers I'm just afraid that new customers will get confused and then quit before the purchase.

I'd love it to go to a pay page and then a sign-up/registration page. I'd also love it if it worked seamlessly with Get Response as well as Aweber.

Just my 2 cents, but I'd love to hear from someone who's using this successfully.

thanks.

SuccessfulLady - If you are referring to Ralph Pruitt's Micro membership plugins then let me assure you that if you settle down and do a little extra work then you can have a really slick setup that does not look 'WordPressy' and which follows a sensible path from first visit through payment and handing back to the site.

I would prefer to NOT show you the site I have been setting up just now but if you use a plugin such as Theme My Login then you can have everything looking very slick. TML is what I used to help me get the kind of flow that I was seeking.

With regard to the pay page, well, the one Ralph shows in the documentation is just a barebones example. I made two other versions and found that it is hard to have a very sophisticated paypage but making one that is attractive and works well takes just a few minutes with FrontPage or whatever HTML layout package you like and some styling cues to carry the site's look and feel over to the payment page. Copy Ralph's example as a guide and build on it with simple HTML and then try out the result before you go live.

I'd prefer to have payment before registration but if the process is handled well, as Theme My Login allows, then there is no real issue. In the end it is about making things simple and direct.

There is no integration with autoresponders - that's life. When I was researching my site I went through scads of membership packages and rejected some on the grounds of excessive cost. MM gets the core functionality spot on in areas that some WP membership platforms miss but is not designed to be an all in one membership platform for a ''round of drinks' price. It is an exceptionally competent membership manager for a round of drinks price.

Oh, ruch1v, Micro Membership is currently on WSO: http://www.warriorforum.com/warrior-...r-19-95-a.html

Thanks, Andrew. I've been trying to "settle down and do a little extra work" for about 2 months now, with the help of what has always been a very capable VA and we're really struggling. My VA is in regular contact with Ralph to get it worked out and we're still struggling. You give me some hope, and I'll look into that plugin.

I did re-design the pay page. It accesses only the text, and creates that ugly page with it.

My membership site is pretty simple - a 30 day lo-cost paid trial, followed by a single level paid membership with a course delivered every week. Not exactly complicated. I just had a friend walk through the sign-up process and it took over an hour with multiple complications, and then at the end it wouldn't let her access any lessons.

I've spent untold hours and considerable money to get this far, and I'm still nowhere. I'm wishing now that I'd spent the money on something that works.

Take a look at the site in my sig box. It runs on Micro Membership and it works.
I can not, because I do not know your circumstances, say that for your needs MM is ideal, but it works well. There are some things that I'd like to see improved but they are far from core to the functionality and will not affect anything you see on my site.

Ralph has been most helpful when I have identified issues that were roadblocks.

WRT Aweber integration, I have found some plugins that offer to integrate registrations and autoresponder services. I will not post them now because I have not tested them but there is no reason to suppose that they will not work as promised.

Andrew - how do you get your register and log in fields to appear within your website page?

There's a plugin for that: WordPress › Theme My Login WordPress Plugins

        It is neat eh?

Hey Andrew. So far I think the MM script is really cool and relatively intuitive. I am having one problem and thought I would ask your opinion. I am using wordpress and micro-membership and have created multiple "pages" which in turn create navigation links. When I am not logged in I do not see the text I wrote for the "pages". It asked that I register or log in. I even used the [free][/free] to unhide the text. Also, the registration/subscription page does not show. How can a website visitor even sign up if they cannot view the subscription page? Any thoughts?

I do not know. If you deactivate the plugin and register on the site as a user does the system send an email? If so then the issue is conencted with MM, if no email is sent then you have a WP config issue.

I have the MM installed on my site as well, but the drip feed and cron script doesn't work. There's a parse error with unexpected T_Variable on line 1 in the micro-membership_course_maint.php file.

Unable to get Ralph to respond so far, anyone here can help?
    Thanks.
