Hi - as Animoto cannot be used in a business 2 business context - do any of you know of any similar products that allows the production of high quality slide videos that can be used to promote businesses. I am aware of MS Movie maker, but are there others? Regards Suki |

| Why is that? I been using them without having any problems? How about sony vegas or after effects? They are not turnkey solutions thou, but they could produce the best video imaginable. or why dont you just outsource them to warriors. Some will charge as low as $10/video.

| Online Video Story is a one time fee alternative. It's better for marketing than Animoto because you can make your video tell a story. It can create videos completely automated, from photos and/or text articles.

I love ProShow Gold. It isn't anywhere near as expensive as the more professional video editing programs, but you can do some way cool things with it. They have a nice user community that contributes as well. Matt |

Business 2 business? Ive been using Animoto for well over a year now and they have been great. It saves a lot of time, it looks great, and best of all, does the job of converting visitors into buyers. Been having great success with them both for clients' sites and my own sites as well. You might want to get the business edition though. Hope this helps. -Yan Kirby |

As for Animoto, what, they don't like us paying customers? They use to have a $499 a year license PLUS $25 per business. That was pretty steep in itself, but now even that's gone. Who will pay a full license each time? They would be the #1 solution if they allowed it. As of now, no money for them. Stupid IMO. | ||

I have just created a site called spatkol.tv (can't post as a link but it's just www sparkol tv) which offers video you can personalise - this includes slideshows similar to animoto. I would be really interested in your feedback and ideas at this early stage of development. Click on the SLIDESHOWS category to see the animoto style slideshows. One of the advantages over a lot of slideshow creators out there, sparkol.tv allows you to preview your final result as you go along so there are no surprises. Hopefully sparkol.tv will be seen to offer a lot more than just slideshows, and a lot more than just stock video. Let me know what you think through the contact form on the site. Thanks. |

Well guys I just gotta say this is abooming industry. A while back I also looked for options for Animoto. The AVS Video Editor will get a visit from me as I liked what I briefly saw on their homepage. Nevertheless I can understand why people would like an alternative to Animoto though. In my experience I LOVE the videos. I really do. A change in themes is what is lacking in my opinion though. I hoped they would add more themes recently but sorry to say they have not been as occupied with that aspect. The reason for me writing here is to thank all of the contributors for their excellent advice to people searching for alternatives. Really good to see the best forum online alive Cheers. Elling |

There is a new and real alternative to Animoto now, created by the ProShow Gold People called ProShow Web. I just came across it while considering buying ProShow Gold. I've only signed up to the free version for now, but may upgrade to the PRO Show Web version as they don't have any restrictions on re-selling videos you make, unlike Animoto. I wrote a blog post here about it where you can see my first slideshow attempt with ProShow Web. Liz |

No matter what solution you guys are going to use, be sure to check out the Terms of Service pretty carefully. Some of these services have some pretty strict rules on use for promotional/non-personal purposes. Including charging you quite a bit for every video you create that you want to use for professional/commercial/promotional purposes. James |

Would any of these allow for the changing of fonts, using multiple fonts, adjusting audio level, determining the amount of time that a pic is shown? Categories should not get the same attention as items. Very disappointed with the lack of customization

Check out TrueKat Show at TrueKat Digital It has a lot of good stuff for a very moderate price. Making videos is a snap - drag and drop images and you can see immediately the preview - no waiting! Everything is real-time. It can export Full HD video and direct export to YouTube and Facebook is supported. There is no limit of how many videos you can create and no annual fees. The number of available themes is constantly growing. The tool is perfect for small ads and promotion videos. There is a trial version, so you can try it before buying. Hope this will help. |

I just noticed that Stupeflix allows control of slide durations. It's the only one of these services I've seen that allows that. No affiliation and I haven't tested it yet. Feature page here: Features - Stupeflix Studio Luke |

It seems to me that if the point is to pay a minimal monthly fee, the best thing to do is to pick up a copy of Sony Vegas on Ebay. It is extremely versatile and you will find more use for it than just online videos. You can pick up targeted online video clips cheap from Pond5.com as well as royalty free music. But I have been able to get professional royalty free music without much cost from Digital Juice. This is not as easy as some of the other solutions mentioned, but it isn't hard, and you can create a very professional video using these tools. Thanks, CT |
