If you're not using articlesbase yet you really should. I submitted an article literally 15 minutes ago and it was already approved. Oh yeah, I'm also already raking in the #1 spot for my keyword with 86,000 competing pages (they're low SOC though). Very, very good directory Highly recommend using them.

I do use them, as well as GoArticles, which instantly approves articles. I can't remember ever getting the kind of results you did. Not sure I ever ranked #1 for an article -that's an impressive feat.

ArticleBase>Ezine for your general article. Not as good for publishing but much easier to deal with overall. You can have links in article body, redirect with php and approved instantly after a number of articles are manually approved.

Thats cool. Did you do anything to the article (link building, SB, ..) or did it just jump directly to #1 in google only because it was on articlebase?

I do like them I have only used them a little, simply submitting articles that are in ezine into articlebase. is it not true that links from ArticleBase are nofollow? |

articlesbase is a great directory, aswell as article dashboard. I have the same as you...articlesbase is ranking my keyword rich articles higher than EZA on most occassions too!

Not meaning to hijack the thread, but I've never understood why some article directories are No Follow. What is the idea behind that?

1. They're trying to keep out the people who submit solely for backlinks, because they think those people don't submit quality articles compared to people who are looking for direct traffic. 2. They believe some of the sites people are linking to are low quality and might affect the directory's own rankings. Otherwise, I'm not really sure why they do this. I suspect it's mostly because they feel it keeps submission quality a bit higher.

Here are a couple tips for using AB for traffic and getting a good 'do follow link' #1 Put a long tail anchor link in the first paragraph pertaining to exactly what the reader may have been looking for if they found you in a search - that way you can try to redirect them to your site quicker because more than 50% won't scroll below the fold and you are competing with a lot of Adsense links along the way down that may attract their attention first. #2 Make sure to write an excellent member profile with good SEO content within and your keyword anchor text because this is where you get your Do Follow links. If you are writing a lot of articles on AB some will rank PR1,PR2,PR3 and the link juice from the article does go to your profile so within a month or two your profile holding your backlinks will be a PR3/4/5 I don't use ArticlesBase for the backlinks but I do use it to optimize knocking competitors out of page 1 on Google by ranking for a couple articles there while building my main site rankings for that keyword. for easy and medium difficulty keywords you can dominate Google top 20 with ArticlesBase and Goarticles The other tip for ArticlesBase - you have some of the best onsite SEO optimization there for your keyword. You can get the Title, H1 Tag, Description, and typically the title in the URL. This is one reason why AB and Goarticles can outpace and outrank Ezines.

| Just run of the mill keyword targeted article writing, nothing out of the ordinary, no link building, etc. It was literally #1 in 15 minutes for the keyword (still there by the way).

I think articlebase is not that good as ezine as they allow promotional articles as well and this completely makes a directory as spam or bogus to visit again.

One thing I have found with Articlesbase is many of my articles are picked up by blog scraping software and posted to Wordpress blogs. So I get quite a few extra backlinks for no extra effort! Tony |

I wouldn't call them friggin' awesome, but if you are in to article marketing, you should be using them. Email support has been subpar for me, and they did not except a few of my articles for very lazy reasons (claimed they were exactly the same as previous articles with just a few words changed and it wasn't true, they merely had the same keywords and everything else was different). But I digress. You should use them as well as ezinearticles, goarticles, etc. |

Article Base is worth submitting to. Don't Know Much About their rankings but Many Auto-blogging Plugins use Content from Article Base(based on keywords, though) to create posts so If your article matches their criteria you could get some extra exposure. GoArticles is my Top Article Directory. -Emmanuel. |

You can never know for sure but I would say that the nofollow is because it does keep junk articles for links out and doesn't pass their authority. Searchwarp is the same. But both have some good value even if they are nofollow. It's good to have articles posted in multiple directories. And you can publish first in ezinearticles then post later in the secondary directories. Well written articles get read and the links get clicked on regardless of the link juice. I'm not a fan of spinning, it just adds to the crap out there but I understand why many do it. Sometimes I write a little different version for the other directories but most times I don't. Never had an issue with duplicate content, in fact I've ranked from multiple directories on the same keywords and article on the first page many times. I don't write as much as I should but I just did my end of year stats and I got over 50,000 visitors from the 5 or 6 article directories I publish to on a regular basis. Haven't really figured out how to trace all the buyers to point of origin yet, sometimes I can tell but not every buyer. I think that is probably worth more than the link juice I got. I think the quality of the visitor is as high as the search engine visitor too but it depends a lot on the subject matter. |

Articlebase is cool because they are quick. If you can do some link building and get those links indexed by google your article can rank pretty easily. I am experimenting with them now and I see that they get results.

I'm going to write a quick PDF on this when I have time next week to detail how to pick up all the onsite optimization. I use this technique to knock old ezines out of their top ranking with a brand new Goarticle or ArticleBase. It can be tough to outrank an older Ezine if it is a really good one with very solid SEO and a few backlinks but I've found that with Goarticles and AB you can beat them with better onsite SEO control- then a few backlinks and see it's sah yah later old Ezine you're off page 1. not fun for someone with over 100K views on their 2-3 year old article but that's the way it goes. an extremely aggressive campaign to rip apart your competitors taking away their top ezine traffic and replacing with your own works. What I don't like about ArticleBase is that they list articles that are just plain ads and direct product promotion. If you are looking for an article there then you have to dig more. Guess you don't need a bio box with them. LOL Lambert |

Andrew, about this article you submitted to ArticlesBase... 1.) Was it a unique article that had never been submitted to any other directory prior to submitting it to ArticlesBase? or 2.) Was it an article that you had previously submitted to other directories prior to submitting to ArticlesBase?

I've primarily used EZA and GoArticles but have just recently began using Articlesbase. I like them as well even though I haven't had the ranking success that you have (yet). I plan to be submitting to AB heavily in the coming weeks.

I use Ezine as my primary article directory, but when it comes to ranking in record time in google, AB delivers results quickly. Yesterday I submitted and article for an average enough searched term to AB, and within 6 hrs I was ranking #8 on page 1 for that keyword phrase. Article Base may have a "no follow" tag, but the click throughs i got to my website were worth it none the less. Kerron |

The speed at which their articles get indexed is fantastic - right up there with EZA I'm also ranking nicely for a few keyword terms with my Articlesbase articles too. Their analytics feature is also very cool indeed.Edit: I don't understand why people get so hung up on the nofollow tag You're not going to submit to a FREE directory, with lots of traffic, and with excellent SEO because of a nofollow tag? I pay no attention to it myself, and I've never been entirely convinced that nofollow = no link juice |

Agree Articlesbase is excellent at getting your article indexed super -fast!....and assuming its a decent article, you can rank pretty well. I've added them to my list of keepers which includes EzineArticles and GoArticles. _____ Bruce |

EzineArticles takes a week for your articles to show (if they happen to like them). They have become so rigid that the average person becomes frustrated with the process. ArticleBase is far better because they allow you to promote yourself or other offers. ArticleBase is used by a number of automated tools like WPRobot so your article can be published (along with your links) in hundreds of blogs and websites in just a few hours. You guys are right, article quality doesn't improve by being anal about how the authors promote themselves. Selfless writting may be passionate but that doesn't mean that its usefull. |

In my opinion, Articlesbase.com articles do rank high in search engines for keywords with medium competition and if you do proper backlinking to those articles then they sure can outrank Ezinearticles in case of few backlinks to existing EZA ranking articles in Google. I think you can better promote CPA offers through Articlesbase rather than clickbank offers. They tend to rank higher because of less competition to CPA offers. |
