I have been using some free desk software, but I can't tell which one is good. If you could recommend me something, I would like to invest in it. We answer lots of technical stuff, so I would like the one that's easier to attach files and screenshots. I have used emails at the same time, but sometimes it doesn't get delivered, so investing in good help desk software make sense to me. Please help. |

I dont do much that requires screenshots and stuff but I have not had any complaints with osTicket. It allows you to direct the complaint to the proper dept. or person and it tracks the length of time the ticket is open so you know if you are providing fast service or not. It is easy to integrate into an existing application such as a store or forum and it is freeware. It is also open source so if you need to tweek it, there are plenty of resources to help you do just that.

CmdrStidd, Thanks for your suggestion. I have used it a little since it was open source, and it worked quite well. Neil, I have seen people using this platform but I didn't know it's called "kayako" until just right now. Thanks! I will definitely check into it. Thank you so much. |

I second HESK. Been using it for years. Its light, easy to mod, reliable, and completely free.

Simon Royal, jazbo, Nathan, Thanks for the help! If my email from own domain/server is blocked or not getting delivered, do you know if notice from self hosting help desk would be blocked or not getting delivered in the same way? I was wondering if the "hosted" solution would be the good way to get around with this. |

After paying out several hundred dollars for the paid options - he ended up opting for hesk and it seems to have more functions and is easier to use than all of the paid ones!! Randy | |

Hey yuushoji, I'm sorry to use this thread just to contact you. You left me a PM (which I don't understand=suspect it was meant for someone else), but unfortunately I haven't been here long enough to qualify for sending PMs. If you still need to contact me, please PM me your email and I will get in touch with you that way. Apologies again for using this thread to communicate :-) |

Hesk is great. It is amazing that it only costs $40.00. I feel guilty not sending them more. It allows me to do anything and everything I could wish for and is very easy to use. The knowledge base is terrific, ticket system is great and the ticket solution recommendations is awesome. Geoff |
