Yes, It is a very good guide to learn the basics. I read it 2 years back. But IMHO you may need some practical support than a ebook. You can try membership sute like wealthy affiliate or ppc-coach.

I have experienced substantial returns with Perry Marshall's material. I first started with his Definitive Guide and it is a solid introduction. . . then I moved to his advance course and eventually to his Bobsled coaching program.

On several of my sites that rely heavily on PPC, I experienced tripling my click through rates and the biggest benefit is learning the ability to test and analyze what works and what does not work in PPC campaigns . . . then optimizing over time.

It does take a lot of time but if you get good conversions, then optimizing PPC is worth lots of money.

I found it quite useful, but also found that not every keyword converts well. He really reinforced the notion of testing, which is probably the biggest lesson that I learned from the book. So far, I have kept the campaigns that were working, and paused the ones that were not until I can get back to do some more work on them.

I originally bought this book in 2005 and recently bought the current version and I've always found it an excellent resource.

I find all of Perry's stuff excellent and I'd recommend getting on his mailing list.
