Default Opinion requested :) My first Clickbank serious site.

Hi!

I've finished my first "serious" site for promoting a clickbank product. I've tried to success on clickbank other times, with test landing pages, ppc, etc, but I want to start something more solid and for long-term bussiness, with mail list, etc , so ... I started Modern Guitar Method | Ideas, Phrases and Exercises for the modern guitarists by Toni Lloret

I have to work hard now for traffic, backlinks, articles, etc, but... do you think it will convert with the actual design?? should i add an articles section where upload the same articles i will send to directories?

Many thanks in advance!

I think the design looks great, lovely looking and well laid out site. Looks like your product is offering great value too.

I think with good promotion you'll do very well.

Many thanks for your opinions!

I wanted to transmit the quality of the product, and i think that offering the demo download to the list suscriptors is a good idea for that.

Thanks again!

Just checked but if not mistaken

1) Your site is a replica of the Vendors site
2) I think you need to check with the vendor if you allowed to offer his demo to a list as he offers it but with no optin

It might be an idea to contact the vendor as well and ask him if you allowed to copy his site

Vendors site: Toni Lloret | Ideas, Phrases and Exercises for the modern guitarrists

The vendor is my guitar teacher. I made both websites, vendor's site uses an early version of the design for his Clickbank site without optin list, so.. both sites are mine.
Demo version is customized for my site, with my page links on it, there's no problem

From my site the product can be bought without visiting the vendor's site, so i think that there is no problem about the similar website design.

Do you think it will be better re-designing the vendor's site?

Thanks!

Love the videos! = )

I like your site, but I think the copy could use a little tweaking. I however am no copy writer so take what I say with a grain of salt.

but...

First thing I'd suggest doing is taking that 300 pages, 350 videos statement and putting it right under your headline.

I'd change:

Book to Guide
Customers to Students

Might I suggest changing the following:

The Spanish guitarist Toni Lloret has developed a new guitar method book that enables you to achieve control of more advanced guitar techniques like alternate picking, legato, sweep picking, tapping & more, optimizing their study time!

To:

The Spanish guitarist Toni Lloret has developed a new guitar method that enables you to achieve {control over more} or {mastery over} advanced guitar techniques like:
  • alternate picking,
  • legato, sweep picking,
  • tapping
  • Cords
  • Scales
  • Transitions
  • Bridges
  • and many more!
And this:

If your playing resources are now limited, or you have no new ideas for your solos and improvisations, if you notice that does not advance much in your guitar technique even when you are playing every day ...
then you definitely need this modern guitar method book!

If your playing time is limited, or you are struggling new ideas for solos and improvisations, or if your feel as if your not advancing your guitar technique even whole playing every day ...

That's my input! Hope it helps

But thanks for the vote!

Omix,

Hi. I also really like your site. Although I don't think it would hurt to add articles, you might consider installing a blog either in a subdirectory or on a subdomain that would point exclusively to the main site. That would allow you to leverage the power of additional rss feeds, blog content, blog comments and other social interactivity along with expanded social networking and bookmarking possibilites.

Hey,

I would def change the price of your ebook to $27. I know that is a simple change but I think it looks better and will sell better.

Yeah, that's a great idea too

A blog in a subdomain its great for publishing the articles i'll send to directories, aswell as any other valuable information for guitarists.

Hi!

I would never have thought of that! Do you think that price ending in 7 influences on the customers purchase intention?

Thanks in advance!

I like it, but you may want to give your iste a more "professional" feel. It looks a bit dull but a polish would make it much cleaner, if you know what I mean. You may also want to give a squeeze page a try for sending PPC traffic to and sell to that list. You'll get more subscribers than sending them directly to the salescopy.

Hi Nick,

I know what you mean. I'm now preparing a revision for the header logos and some icons for the navigation bar that i think will give a new feeling for the site

$27 seems ridiculously cheap.

You will struggle to find affilaites even at 75%

You have what appears to be a product with a lot of content.

I would split test sales volume vs revenue as high as $77

Often price dictates quality perception.

You're offering a huge amount for the price of a family trip to McDonalds.

+230 audio examples & +355 Video Examples!

I would place the nav bar at the bottom of the site not the top personally.

Headline could possibly do with some work, you could stick to tried and true such as:

Who Want's To Discover How To Play Guitar Like The Revolutionary Toni Lloret

( i know nothing about guitar or Toni Loret, I don't know if he's a big name, but if he's not you may like to include a really good set of benefits under the title as to why they would want to play like him)

I would invest $100 and get somebody to make you a really proffessional CD / E-Report Montage, multiple CDs perhaps numbered, right now it looks like low grade graphics for the product, you can do a lot better for little cost.

Think about how you can montage all they get into a single image.

CD's
Manuals - split the manuals into modules if need be, use a spiral bound effect for your market, it's congruent with how music is delivered in hard format.
Videos can be shown using a movie top/bottom effect or show them on a monitor.

Creativity is an issue here, you selling something "virtual", images make it tangible.

Really like your use of lightbox on the screen shots, excellent idea actually.

I would however actually put some verbiage by the screen shots saying "Click to View" or Click To Enlarge"

First time I scanned the page I didn't even realise I could see them larger.

The blue arrow usage to continue the eye moving down the page is well used, very Ryan Deiss, I like it and it does work.

Remove the link to the interview (it's a bad thing to take anybody away from your primary sales message) I would consider adding that in your prospect Autoresponder .

Personally I'm still NOT a fan of using Youtube videos on sales copy. I think personally it's a BIG mistake for the following reasons.

1) Other people's ads show in the videos - I don't have to elaborate on that.
2) People click to youtube.com to see the "bigger version" and leave your site.
3) When it ends you get associated videos (you can resolve that with 30 seconds of black footage) .

Overall bad idea IMO, to much leakage .

Try audio acrobat or convert them to a normal flash player and store them locally.

You have no upsell in the process once they click order.

Leaving cash on the table.

Find something you can upsell, contact somebody with a product you feel they would be interested in if you don't have anything yourself.

Hell you could split the audio from the videos and offer them as an upsell.

Call it the "IPOD/MP3" Deluxe Edition.

Get somebody to make you a nice graphic with multiple CD's in a montage.

Overall I think it's solid, you can make improvements in my opinion but good luck to you, it looks overall pretty decent.

I think you're massively undervaluing the product however.

Omix, something that struck me was the many ways potential customers can leave your site - and you lose a sale. OOps!

For example, when the video on the bottom left plays, I get Google Ads across the bottom of the video advertising other sites. This could take readers and sales away from you.

And in other videos the tonilloret dot net URL is displayed. That could take readers and sales away from you.

The fact that the videos are on Youtube makes it soooooo easy for your visitor to go surf Youtube instead of purchasing from you. Another sale lost!

Since Toni is your teacher, can you get access to the original videos so you can host them somewhere like Viddler or Screencast or S3 to display them on your site without the other Ads?

Better yet, will Toni let you record a short video or two for your site instead of you using the Youtube videos?

As I watch Tony shred in those video I am wondering what method Toni will use to teach me those riffs. Will Toni let you put a small portion of a video from one of the lessons on your site? Again without using Youtube, to show exactly how he will teach me.

You have direct access to Toni which should put you way ahead of any other affiliates he acquires because you can make your site have unique videos.

Now the OP's site that have a affiliate link on it is

Everybody is telling him how to change the prices etc. and he replies back but he appears to be an affiliate and not the owner of the product.

You're right about the price, i talked about that with the vendor time ago. I'll try to convince him to test with a higher price.

I'll convert videos to flash and play them directly from my server, i have the original ones, so there's no problem about that.

Thanks!

Thanks Don You're totally right about youtube, like Simon on the previous post. Is very easy to leave the website to youtube or click on any ads from the video.

I'll ask Toni for a more personal videos, with something only i can bring to my subscriptors or visitors, thats a great idea!

For starters your opt in don't work as I subscribed and still waiting (over 1 hour) On the http://www.tonilloretbook.com/ site the sample download don't work either.

Hello Best of luck to you on the site I think that with all the experienced advice here
you should do very well.

I'd like to throw my hat in the ring and suggest split testing:

Price points ie: $77. as the lowest and $97. as the highest

the easiest way to split test is with the Google tool

Website Optimizer is free and you get results

As to the price there is nothing wrong with being on the high side of a valuable product.

Plug the holes in the site for visitors to escape and you'll be well on your way

Rock 'em dude

Might be handy if people read existing responses.

This trend of simply regurgitating the same data already given just clutters the thread.

manage to get it working after the 3 try. Maybe the problem is my side. I downloaded the samples. I see the videos are very small. Why did you do it so small (the size - not length)

Okay, I guess I am going to go a little against the grain here.

I think the product is great, heck I would even buy it my self!
But I do think the site is flawed in it’s copy. There are a number of grammatical errors on the page where letters are missing and even words.
(Grammar Police: My post is not the subject here, the question was about the site!)

Although I think you have had a really good go at this I think you should maybe let a Copywriter take a look and just give it that ‘WOW’ factor.

It is just lacking something…

I personally would not use such a large opt-in box, but if you are going to collect names using a big box like that, make some use of it, GRAB the readers attention, make them believe that what they are getting for free is worth it. Gone are the days of just sticking something on your website as a freebie and people will give you their details – now you even have to SELL the stuff your giving away for FREE!

If you are going to go down the big opt-in box (and I strongly recommend you do not!) then maybe fill it with something like…
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

“After a lot of persuading, Toni has FINALLY allowed me to offer a ‘FREE’ trial so students can experience for themselves this totally unique guitar method immediately.”

“I don’t know how long I can persuade him to keep this open so grab your FREE…

7911 Guitar Exercises

RIGHT NOW!!”

To receive you’re totally FREE sample of Toni’s method, fill in your First Name and your primary email address and I’ll do the rest… while I am still allowed!!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now I came up with that in a couple of minutes but you get the idea and if you put your mind to it then the ideas will come. Sell it to them!!

On the subject of cost, a few on here have mentioned how cheap this product is. I have to agree with them. You could split this up and make a back end product.

I would recommend that you split it up, make your front end offer that gives great value and then funnel your prospects into a larger part of the product at a greater price as a back end and then onto a ‘low-ish’ monthly subscription where they get a NEW video (done by you and Toni each month or do a load over a weekend) that teaches them a new rift every single month. Load it into your autoresponder - CASH every month!

People would bite your hand off for this product if you get the sales page sorted, and by that I mean clear up the ‘two offer sites’ issues, clean up the copy on the site you chose to keep, do that and I think your on to a winner!

Great job, good luck!

Anyway, these are just my thoughts…

I like the Free Guitar Lesson bit. Find a way to make that more prominent. Also the guitarist is blue on blue so obviously doesn't stand out. Also my understanding is that the Search Engines that matter - and maybe some that don't! - will love you more if you have a Privacy Policy and I think, not quite sure on this last, a Site Map as well. Good luck

Thanks Don, i know there are some gramma mistakes... i'm spanish and i'm not as good in english as i want I have to hire a copywriter to take a look and make the hype appear

I'll take a look to the optin box too, i think your idea will grab the attention of the reader 100% more than actual box ...

Thanks!!

Be careful.

Google doesn't like duplicate sites, even if you designed both of them.

If you or your teacher want to promote either site with AdWords, you should make sure the sites look significantly different.

I think you might do better with a more ghetto affiliate site, anyways. You have a GREAT angle being his student.

I'd test a more ghetto site that basically says "Hey, my guitar teacher just put together a guitar course that rocks." Then tell them how they can get it at a discount, or on a trial basis, etc. if they buy it through your site, since you know the vendor.

To really sweeten the pot, create a bonus that compliments the course and give that to people that buy through your link, too.

My $.02.

Hey Omix, another thought came to me.

When I read about Toni being a Spanish guitarist the first thing that came to mind was Spanish classical guitar music - Sor, Albeniz, Tarrega or Flemenco guitar... not modern - not rock.

Here in the USA, classical guitar or Flemenco guitar is what will usually come to mind as soon as you say, "Spanish" guitarist.

And easy and impressive way to get around this is to have a very short 5 to 10 second audio of Toni shredding wildly - ending on a chord. Keep it short so people can then read the Website.

This short, impressive lick by Toni will pull any guitar student into the Website. It's that sudden "Wow!" factor. And this will immediately remove any thoughts of the stereotype classical Spanish guitar music.

In my opinion, both websites don't look professional - they looked a bit too cramped.

I have to work hard now for traffic, backlinks, articles, etc, but... do you think it will convert with the actual design?? should i add an articles section where upload the same articles i will send to directories?

Many thanks in advance!

I'll leave the nitpicking to others (not that the suggestions aren't valid) because I just want to offer some encouragement. I think the site looks GREAT, and that dude can play a mean guitar. You should do well.

Looks great! I would order from there if I ran across it.

Your list price and the price that comes up are different though.

Oh darn. I should have eordered yesterday.

Toni's playing is impressive. I wonder how well sales would do with a price test at $27, $37, $47.

You're totally right. i'll add a short small video on autoplay under the headline, I think that should work!

What did you use to get away from the Youtube videos ?

It's already looking better.

Removing that nasty site leakage in regards YT was time well spent.

Your affiliates will thank you as well.

I think you did an absolutely exceptional Job. Theres some good advice here, but in general, you need to start promoting! Do a little split testing, and optomise. But dont stress and sit on your haunches "perfecting" things.

Get some numbers, then you can focus on the things that are *most* important (The statistics you gather, will of course let you make this decision).

Hi Simon, i used that early version of FLVPlayer for the videos. The new versions of the player (LongTail Video | Home of the JW Player bought it) doesn't work on IE.

Thanks!

Yeah! that's the next step. Working on the site without any real traffic to test & study is a waste of time. Let's work on that!!

Kw research, articles and so on!

Thanks!

Your site is looking a lot better than yesterday. I would dump that yellow menu as it don't blend in with the theme. Those black boxes for the videos is also not good. I think you will do well with this site.

Thanks theimdude! i'm working on a new navigation bar right now.

That black screen on videos is awful, but i've tested other many flv players with preview, and all them failed on IE

You might want to have your testimonials in a display box or something to make them stand out. Also images of the people making them is a nice touch.

Hey

one thing i'd say is not to have the video play automatically, alot of people don't like that.. especially if they are at surfing at work (many work comps dont have speakers but some do
