Valid point Karl, i have in my short time online noticed The marketing tips crowd, Derek Ghel offer this, and others. Quote:
Thanks Floyd, See it proves my point, there are people who feel that injustice in a sense, even though it may not be illegal! Quote:
There's nothing wrong with your approach - when I was much younger I ran a very successful mobile locksmith service for years that way. One core difference though is that your company is a service organization while mine produces and sells specific products. In fact we dpo the construction work and or the project management. ( design build) If it is the same in the USA as the UK, The project starts on site day one....four weeks later application has been made for an interim payment, two weeks later funds are paid. The construction industry is unique in the sense you take all the risk before you see a red cent! Last year we had £61,350 payment after 6 weeks on a pub conversion. To be fair to Mike, I do take the cash up front situation, if offered. But this is only domestic schemes and not controlled through a proffesional body and few and far between [quote]I am afraid i go with most of the warriors means of selling that i have come accross, that is 30 day money back qurantee...and that`s my point, regardless of if YOU have found it MORE profitable for you and your company.[/qoute] What I highlight in red is what I emphatically disagree with and genuinely believe it's a common mistake on your part. All the warriors i have dealt with have offered the cash back, no quibles for whatever reason...not sure about other warriors of course! I'm not suggesting that you should offer a No Refund Policy as I do. I'm also not suggesting that offering a 30 day money back guarantee isn't a smart business move. Here is a link about the high priest of "Risk Reversal" This guy has to be the best in the business...If you think you know it all and you have tested up to the hilt and are getting , well not bad results, Jay steps in and blows your marketing ideas out of the water! There are so many people, marketeers out there who think they know it all... Jay Abraham: Success Stories

I've read Jay's stuff - he's good, no argument there. But the one thing you misunderstand is that he can only talk in very general terms. His particular strategies, thoroughly tested in my own business model don't always work. See, Jay, with absolutely no disrespect intended, knows absolutely nothing about the intricacies of my business model. I don't profess to know it all, but one thing I do know is that if you're not testing in lieu of simply following the herd, you're only setting yourself up for failure. But I'm not wasting any more time on this topic as you've obviously convinced yourself that it's better to be a sheep in the herd rather than an alpha male.

Ha ha ha, I do too! ( pass the mint sauce please!) Big Mike v Jay Abraham....hmmmmm interesting duel. i wonder who would come out on top if you gave the public at large the vote? Sheep in the herd? It`s the sheep that look for the pen of safety when it becomes a buying issue...so Jay and all the ones that advocate this concept of selling to the sheep ! that`s right Mike the masses, the sheep, sheep who need the safety net because they dont like taking risks...this is why in my estimation the "risk reversal" works...I have proved it in a model fine tuned for my business. As for me being a sheep? well not so far as my business is concerned. I dont think i blindly follow anyone Mike. I read all about Jay Abraham and how he turned around different business models from software companies to construction companies with different means / methods to suit each business, plus tons of refferals with scores of business owners. We do have differing opinions Mike regarding this but it does not take away the fact we are both succsessful anyway in what we do regardless of which path we tread. I have respect for you because you are well known in the forum and have generated values for your customers. I have found this topic quite interesting and not found it a waste of time, but an interesting insight into the way peoples minds work by virtue of their well found and tested business models. Cheers all, if this is the last post.P.S. forgive the typos |
