Best Affiliate Programs to Sell

I could not find the information I wanted in other posts, so perhaps this will serve others who come after me as well. I hope to start a thread that becomes a resource for this question in the future.

I understand the concept of affiliate marketing and am moving to action. I am partnered with a list with 40k+ members in the personal development genre, and want to both sell products to that list and build affiiates in the process.

I am wondering what the best affiliate programs are in various product genres. Of course, "best" is relative, so here are some criteria I would like people to judge the programs on, so that eventually, we can create a type of table or matrix.

Area of expertise...
SEO...PPC...email lists...social media...video...blogs...affiliate...copywriting... cpa...productivity...joint venture...membership sites...

Criteria for Greatness...
High Conversion (honest tracking)
High payout
2-3 levels deep
Product satisfaction/reputation
Good resources/emails/tweets/fb posts

In other words, what are the best products/programs in the various specialty areas? That way, I invest my time and my list effectively.

Thoughts?

Your question is difficult to answer, as from what I can tell many affiliates here are "self made" and a lot of products may not necessarily have a program, but are being promoted anyways.

There may also be people who are promoting their own products on here, which makes that something which is difficult to answer.

From my own personal experience, I prefer programs that at least offer some affiliate tools to use, such as already created website templates, landing page templates, banner ads, ebook covers, reports, articles, and offers other things too, such as consultations, keyword research, forum(s), brandable templates for videos or other sorts of products etc etc etc...

I am a bit risky myself, so I mostly promote new products lately, and they convert very well, so I would also think that the reputation at times may not even be an option, as it's not fully established yet on a grand scale.

Also, when you say personal development...are you talking about self help, success (monetary, physical, and internal etc), psychology, health & fitness, and relationships?

There are really good independent affiliate programs out there, those that are not on CB and other Affiliate networks. I think the single most important step towards marketing a product or offer is to get your research right, choosing the right product and then keywords, SEO are the first steps for sure.

In terms of payout, you probably wanna go for products that make a bit more then a few bucks although even cheap 7-8 dollar products can rake in a lot of monthly income (a lot for me is 300-400 bucks).

The low down, Clickbank offers good transparency, you can see all the payout estimates, referals , gravity but the competition is higher, independant programs are not visible but the right product can benefit you.

Most people here are speaking about affiliate programs to "digital" products only. Are your thinking only about "digital" products or also "physical" products?

      Thanks everyone!

Example - Philip Tirone has an "increase your credit score" product that he does a teleseminar for. He has measured his success on conversion, and he averages 12%-15% for an $800 product. He is someone I intend to work with.

It seems that finding programs like this is not as easy as I might have liked. Do any of you have programs that have these kinds of statistics and numbers? Is trying to create a list of high payout, high conversion products by genre a good idea?

      Thanks!
