PRODUCT REVIEWS

Hi everyone... I am trying to decide on the best solution for my business and hoping to get some input...

I have about 160 Wordpress based blogs now. I use a reseller acct at Hostgator and install with Fantastico. I typically set all of my sites up using the same theme, plugins, etc. In other words, I have a "system" of how I want them to look and function.

However, we all know how long it takes to set up Fantastico, install theme, install and activate plugins, change the settings, etc. In order for me to ramp things up, I need a better system.

I have briefly looked at the two options above plus another one called Desktop Wordpress Blog Installer. I don't want anything too technically challenging. I want to be able to install these blogs on their own cpanels and have them ready to go within a few minutes.

What are your recommendations? What are the perks/drawbacks of the programs listed? I am not really sure of how they are different other than pricing...

Don't forget about Andrew Hansen's Tools For Blog Traffic Generation, Adsense And Affiliate Revenue | GetFirepow.com system. Very good training, forums, member-only plugins and product. Just a bit pricey...but powerful.

  I found this application last night which was created by a warrior. Check it out, I'm sure you will like it. It's a very straight forward WP install and the cost is your email address.

SC,

you *must* check out "backupbuddy"

BackupBuddy luginBuddy | WordPress Plugins

It still has some quirks, but its fantastic. Its a backup/restore tool, its only $26 an i manage to clone a complete site with it in 40 seconds.

( It is actually supposed to do all this automatically, a complete WP install. If it does not extract go onto your cpanel and extract the backupfile via filemanager. I hope they fix this, i am in talks with the developer of this tool)

WP Cloner by MASS AUTOMATION is about the best there is for truly one click cloning. HOWEVER, THE CUSTOMER SERVICE IS ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE....

Unfortunately, it seems that you have to deal with it because he knows his is the best of its kind around - I wish someone else would create a similar though better product as soon as possible

backupbuddy ROCKS...(minus minor quirks). I hate to say it, i used to LOVE WpmanagerDX....but recently i sat there for hours trying to clone my site(s) and there were just so many issues with it.

backupbuddy is as simple as having one blog where you run the plugin, download the whole backup, FTP the backup ZIP to new domain and clone the WHOLE site within 30 seconds. For $26 its fantastic.

The only "quirk" is that with some hosting configurations it doesnt automatically extract the backup archive...but it works if you (before you use importbuddy) go to cpanel and extract the archive from cpanel/filemanager. Then you run importbuddy.

I think her issue is maintaining 160 blogs and needs a dashboard type product to make it easier. Jonathan Leger has one right now in Beta, free now, and it imports blogs. I am sure it is buggy. DX would be the cheapest option. One time payment, firepow is good, and the easiest to control that many blogs with buttttt its 127 a month. Your move. Good luck.
