Hey Guys,

I'm currently having a bit of trouble using aweber. There's a lag of about 2-10 mins between when someone signs up and a confirmation email is sent out to them.

Do you guys know of any good alternatives?

Thanks

Joseph...wow, 10 mins seems like a long time. You might want to check out Get Response.

    Joseph,

At least you are getting sign-ups via aweber - I reckon I could live with a 2 minute delay!

    Try these guys:
    Imnica Mail

I just started up a monthly package, I love the fact that you can pay via Paypal; very convenient for someone who doesn't want to use his credit card. Anyway, I ran into a small issue but was able to fix that; the owner still replied to my PM within a couple of hours with the exact fix I used.

I've managed to setup my own little opt-in page, something I've never done before and found it quite easy to do. Not sure how it compares to Aweber, but I tested it myself to see how quickly I get sent the confirmation email and it's instant - so I'd recommend them 100% for what I've seen thus far!

The owner is a member on the forum, he's running a WSO as well:

iContact is pretty good plus they let you import your mailing list without everyone having to reconfirm.

You might want to contact aweber though - moving mailing lists is a PITA and I'm not having issues with Aweber at all.

At random times Aweber can be a little slow with their confirmation emails, but overall they are by far the best and have the most features. I'm able to maintain a consistent 86%+ confirmation rate for my lists so it's really not as much of a problem as it seems.

Yeah I would probably stick with AWeber if I were you... they do sometimes have slow-downs, but not often and the service is good (for the price) overall

    Hey Guys,

Thanks for all your feedback. I'll stick with aweber for a little bit longer and see if the lag time disappears.

    Thanks

How are you building your list?

If it's a membership site like launch formula marketing or butterfly marketing then stick with aweber as it's far and away the easiest autoresponder to integrate.

Also the lag depends on IM product launches, if everyone is mailing then you can suffer.

I've had problems with Get Response, definitely stick with AWeber.

    Re the lag:

As an Autoresponder provider I would normally love to see a post with someone unhappy with the competition...lol

But in Awebers defence - the lag in many cases is the isp not the autoresponder comapny.

Aweber would probably have sent the reply instantly.... But then it can arrive instantly in gmail - and take 10 minutes to get to your email account if you have an isp email account.

Also - if you have a domain email, your own host can delay the forwarding of the email (and in some cases lose it completely... for which everyone blames the AR company for non delivery... but in reality it can be the host that loses them)

Therefore I would test your emails with various accounts like yahoo, gmail, hotmail etc. before believing it is definitely a delay caused by your autoresponder.

    Hope that helps

    Aweber is very very expensive.

We have others threads in this forum talking about other options.

We have 2 members (or more) from this forum that work with email sending servers.

    Just take a look around.
