Default The Ultimate Social Bookmarking Software?

Hey everyone Pat here

I'm on the lookout for the best Social Bookmarking Software. I'm frankly sick of posting all my work manually and I'm not too keen on Social marker either so yes... I'm ready to part with cash providing it's the bees knees.

I want it to be as automated as possible that will send out to as many sites as possible. I'm also looking for a pay once solution as I don't like the idea of being someone else’s cash cow for eternity.
So anyone got any recommends I'd love to hear them.

Pat

Cheers Glen

It definitley looks like what I'm looking for. I just don't want to go and rush out and buy it then find out that there was something better that's all.

Is there any other competitors I should be aware of?

I have tried socialbot, but not BMD. I have read some of the comments from those people who has tried BMDv4 and here is my comparison

Price: I bought socialbot thru an WSO and i think it cost around $27. BMD cost around $100, but i am not too sure if there is any special offer going on.

Features:
Social Bot
I like the spider features from socialbot. It detects and list down all the pages from your website and list into the software for submission. Socialbot ability to submit to over 100 bookmarking sites, but over 70% of them are of poorer quality as the up-time of those sites are often unpredictable. It also missed out a few of the high quality site like digg, therefore, i still required to do some manual submissions.

BMD
I have never used this piece of software but from what i understand, you can schedule your submission, rotate titles and change proxy. It also comes with auto account creation.

Summary
BMD offer better features but at a much higher price. Personally, i think socialbot is satisfactory for me, but i still hope it can improve on its list of bookmarking sites.

Hey Glenn,

Thanks for the heads up on this!

OK, in the original WSO thread, someone asked for a comparison of the two:

  1. Sites - SB supports 125 plus out of the box while it looks like Demon supports 20. Incidentally, SB only supports English Language sites.
  2. Adding Sites - SB automatically updates with new sites we identify and removes non-working sites. It looks like Demon allows you to add Scuttle sites (I'm not positive about this).
  3. Account Creation - SB does not support account creation. Demon claims to but then indicates it doesn't always work.
  4. Proxy Servers - SB does not support these - Demon does. This is arguable because using Proxy Servers can create problems in terms of getting accounts banned and really, is only necessary if you plan on hammering the services with submissions.
  5. Duplicate Content - Demon allows the user to add different titles, keywords and so forth to purportedly avoid duplicate content issues. I'm a little lost on this feature as it doesn't make any sense to me. I think that could potentially cause SE listings to be sandboxed or de-indexed.
  6. Site Spidering - One of the key features of SB is that it spiders your sites and builds a list of pages to submit. I don't think Demon does this.
Bookmarking Demon looks like a solid program, again though I've never used it - although I do think a couple of the features could get inexperienced marketers into trouble spam wise. That's just my opinion, but it's the core reason we won't add these features to SocialBot.

There may be many other differences but I can't really tell from the sales page. Obviously I'm biased, but I think with the sheer volume of SocialBot users out there, it must be a pretty darn good program as compared to others, LOL.

I don't know what Demon's user base is, or what the account termination rate might be, but SocialBot has over 10K users and less than 1% have reported account terminations. Obviously not everyone reports this, but every person whoi has reported it has also indicated they submitted hundreds or thousands of pages in the space of hours.

I guess others would have to comment (if they've used both programs) and maybe give a better comparison?

Aside from that, I think you'll find nothing but good comments from SocialBot users - support is excellent and the program has been relatively trouble free for years.
That said, SB supports two levels of sites - the primaries like Delicious and the secondaries like Scuttle. Adding primary sites is a slower process because every site is designed differently and has different requirements.

But...and this is a huge difference between the two programs - we actively pursue adding and/or updating sites regularly. Most of this is done automatically, but the primary sites require a program upgrade, which we do periodically.

To me, the most important difference between them is that SocialBot is not a "Black Hat" program that's going to eventually going to cause trouble for you. Over the years we've been careful to approach this so that you don't get banned from different sites and end up wasting all your efforts over the long term.

In order for Social Bookmarking to be effective, your accounts need to last more than a few weeks or months.

Just bought it and it doesen't work!

Well not for me anyway, here's why

After a bit of research it turns out it dosen't work on 64 bit operating systems :-(. so if you've got a 64 os you wanna steer well clear of this.

Must say I'm a bit gutted about this, I was really looking forward to using it as well.

Big Mike, I've heard your in the process of making it 64 bit compatiable, if or when you do, do you think you'll have it ready cos I'm keen as mustard for this tool!

The new BMD is still in beta but it works fine. You have account creation, rotating titles, tags and you can use it in different combinations.
