Have you guys heard of Entrecard? I am wondering if it is worth exchanging banner with them?

Thanks

A total waste of Internet space in my opinion. Signed up long ago and did all the crap to accumulate credits. Got very little traffic from entrecard and finally had 60,000 credits with not much useful to do with them and just spent them on ads to get rid of them so I can delete the widget from my blog and be done with them.

New owners but haven't seen any changes worth trying them out again.

The answer is Yes, and No. Entrecard was the brain child of Graham Langdon, a young MIT Grad entrepreneur, who made his way onto the stage with, I believe, 'The Million Dollar' Wiki.

Eventually, he started Entrecard and he was there interacting with the users every step of the way -- and it was truly a lot of fun. It had its ups and downs but, in the beginning, it brought MEGA traffic for all kinds of reasons... one of them being that the users were mostly BLOGGERS who incorporated some marketing... rather than marketers who incorporated some blogging.

So, these huge contests by members would occur where the entry fee was that you had to write an article about the contest. In essence, you were required to invite competition, who then had to do the same. And there was lots of traffic to be had and "may the best angler win."

But then Graham sold it and I'm not sure how well its going any more. Last time I was there, I didn't get the same feeling but I'm sure it still has some value for those who wish to work it.

For some, it's worth a try, but not for me. There's a bunch of users who support it with personal contributions such as "easy drop" toolbars that allow you to "chain drop" (visit a site, drop your card, earn a credit, rinse repeat) from site to site like lightning. It kind of defeats the purpose, though, which wasnt just to build up credits in the hope of others seeing your blog, but to actually SEE others blogs. The speed-dropping methods cropping up actually have the effect of increasing "bounce rates" and, from what I understand, if you have an Adsense blog, that's not good. Uh uhhh.... I believe your earning power goes down the more your "bounce rate" goes up.

So, if you want to feel like you BELONG to another community and/or experience that first adrenalin rush from diving into something new, sure, check it out. But, are there other ways to get more traffic and eyeballs on your site, more quickly, and efficiently? Heck, yes.

Join if you're having trouble doing anything else. But, while it can seem a bit fun and new and socially interactive, a lot of your time is going to be spent working it and, like I said, it's not the most efficient way to go about things.

And that's coming from someone who, originally, was a die-hard supporter. It's just gone on too long without any significant improvement. Although, interestingly, they ARE trying to start a NEW economy on the web where you can pay for all kinds of services and products with EntreCredits earned from surfing others sites. You can even buy, and sell EntreCredits for cash; use EC to run contests, etc....

It's your call. You can get new traffic but, let me reiterate, it comes down to how you wish to spend your time... clicking toolbars and drop boxes when most people are going to be doing the same and just whizzing by your site, or building a solid IM empire via all the amazing information you receive for free here in the Warrior Forum.

    Best wishes,
    Eric

Hi, I'm just using Entrecard on my blog stovia.com. using Entrecard very influential on my blog traffic. but unfortunately like BizBoost say, bounce rate is very high after the user clicks on dropcard, many users are immediately closed the web page, after doing the analysis looked at google analytics bounce rate increased to 88.52%, please advice.

If you wish to live in fairy land that all of a sudden you are getting lots of visitors and are popular then jump right in and waste a few months of your time, any luck you will realize before its to late the hours you spend putting in compared to what you take out are wasting your time and money.

As mentioned if you want that i feel loved and important feeling while living with the fairy's, by all means go right ahead.

? what would i know ? i was the most expensive site you could advertise on, i had pages of ads pumping and it was firing like the fourth of July with bells and whistles everywhere, lucky i asked myself well this is great but show me the money ? it worked out better for me to spend my time placing affiliate ads on sites than to drop my card bizzo thingo.

In Fairness there was some good people on the site, and some good blogs in among it all.
