I'm contemplating moving away from Hostgator as I've just used a load test tool that checks for load speed over the amount of currently connected users. I tested my site hosted on a VPS by Hostgator against a site hosted by Bluehost on shared hosting. The results were amazing for Bluehost and so crap for Hostgator I don't even know why anyone bothers. Results HG VPS loading at 247kbs. 30 connected users 16seconds load time. Shared Bluehost it was ten times that at 2,470kbs. 30 connected users 5.8 seconds load time. Can anyone shine some light on why HG are so crap? |

Compare bluehost shared with hostgator shared. Is this just me? But shared hosting always outperform VPS. I think hostgator is better than bluehost. However, hostgator sometimes suspend domain. Bluehost will just throttle. Quote:
