I may have to try them although I have not had good experience with those sites in the past. I am having reasonable success with full time Fillipinos (sp.).

I really am looking to go cheaper even than that because I am going to have alot of transcribing work to be done in the next 3-6 months.

Jacinta Dean did an excellent job for me on a video series I wanted converting to pdf's...

Not only did She grammar check, spell check and take out all the um's and err's etc.
She also included links and graphics where relevant

She doesn't have a site up yet advertising her service - but if you go to Creating My Business Online - Learn how to create a business online!
And find a contact link - I'm sure she would be happy to quote for what you need doing.

I am not as cheap as rentacoder, but my $45 per audio rate (for Warrior members), is less than what many charge and my quality is top-notch.

Over 20 years in the transcription biz - medical, legal, and general... I have worked with several WF members over the years.

@fingers for hire. Is your rate $45 prt audio rate. Is that a flat rate? I couldn't tell.

The flat rate is based on the quality and type of audio. In other words, $45 per audio hour is what you would pay for clear audio, 1-2 person or one speaker interviews. I say flat rate because there are no extra charges for formatting, video instead of audio, converting files to MP3, etc. like many transcription companies charge. If you have 60 minutes of clear audio you pay $45 no more no less. This is $0.75 per minute.

Last week, I came across this post while searching the WF for a transcriptionist for some interviews I've recently done. After seeing Kimberly Best's rates and positive comments, I got in touch with her via PM.

Just got my first transcription back from her today. Excellent.

It was formatted nicely, all my "uhs and ahs" were skipped, and foreign words (a lot of Japanese words were mentioned in this audio) were handled phonetically per my request too. A nearly perfect transcription.

Kim does a very professional job with excellent turnaround time and extremely competitive pricing and I've already sent more work her way. Highly recommended.
