Ye, more than sufficient. All sensitive data is processed and stored by clickbank so you don't have to worry about security in that sense.

To OP - Hostgator and Namecheap are all you need

Regarding Hostgator's 'Baby Plan'. Obviously it's NOT unlimited when it comes to CPU usage. So, has anyone pushed it to its limit and found out what that limit is?

I've been using a HostGator VPS for hosting, and GoDaddy for domains.

GoDaddy has superior customer services, but lousy hosting plans....

HostGator is all around a great value - great products, prompt & courteous customer service.

I pay a premium of around $70/mo for extra ram & CPU time, just to handle those rare instances of spikes in traffic. It's piece of mind for me to sleep easy at night....

And if you keep an eye on the GoDaddy emails, you never have to pay full price for a domain...

I use hostgator for my .com .nets etc and D9hosting.com for my .co.uk. Registrar GoDaddy for .coms etc and 123reg.com for .co.uk works out cheaper that way :-)

Both allow unlimited domains, size, bandwidth etc. D9 also do us hosting but I have not tried that service.

Hello,

ehostinggiant.com domains 6.00 good hosting packages also been with them for about 3 to 4 years.

I moved from hostgator to them because a script I wanted to use did not work with hostgator.

Pick a hosting account on your script needs... you might need a few hosting accounts Like I do.

For hosting take a look at: Hostgator, Hostmonster and Hostica.
For domain registration look at Namecheap.

Thanks for all of the helpful replies. Looks like I might go with the Hostgator Baby plan..... only downside I can see is if I need to phone customer services - I'm in England and they are in the US!
Got my site for my regular day to day business on Godaddy, and they seem Ok sso they will do just fine for buying domains I reckon.

I have thousands of domains with Godaddy which is great as a registrar, not so good with hosting. I have a shared account with Servage - loads of space and greate custome support. Shared hosting whoever you go with is going to be more than adequate starting out. You have to think that is you go VPS or dedicated server then you are in charge of keeping it up and the backups, not a responsibility I like personally.

I have found that Namecheap.com is a great place to buy your 1st domain (very very user friendly)

As for hosting Hostmonster, Host Gator, and Bluehost.com Highly reccomended for reliability as well as customer service. Wouldn't have it any other way =]

PS. i believe host monsters costs right now is 5.95 including a free domain for unlimited everything. You have to pay the whole year up front though just a heads up.

Unless you are a 'SuperPerson', you're not likely to exceed either you're hosting space, CPU usage, or bandwidth, for quite some time. If you do exceed, any reputable provider will allow you to upgrade your package in order to take care of that issue.

There are limits to all hosting accounts. If you are new to web hosting, then if I were you, I'd forget about limits and just set up your hosting and get on with developing and promoting your business.

If you are starting out, try Hostgator IMHO. Good luck with your selection.

They were our host back in 2006-07. We stayed with them for a year. A lot of downtime.

We then went with AN Hosting. Had a few issues with them, too, in the first year. Then they were bought out by UK2, and since then they've been very good.

It's been three years, but based on our experience back then, we probably would never go back.

Yes - Hostgator work really well for me. Inexpensive and great customer service. Someone has recommended GVO to me as well - not used them yet though. More expensive, but have lots of additional features incorporated into package (auto responder, online meeting, video hosting, lead generation etc) I'm going to give them a go when i get around to it
