Good Video Camera with great Audio?

Hi guys,

I am in need of a Video Camera, where I will be shooting some videos for my Sales Page, and video reviews, etc. I need something pretty cheap, nothing above $200, with great Audio.

Everything will be shot indoors, on a tripod, where I will be sitting down and talking about my products. Do you have any recommendations on what would be best for me?

Definitely needs to be HD, and nice and portable. I was looking at the Kodak Zi8, and some HD Flip Cams so far, anyone know anything about those?

Thanks so much.

Thumbs up for the Kodak Zi8 for two reasons. 1-) A flip video screen so you can actually see what you are recording, when you record, and also 2-) a mic jack so you can add a lavaliere clip-on microphone for excellent audio.

Yes, the zi8 can give you really good looking video, but you will need to buy an external mic to get great sound. I use the Audio-Technica ATR3350. It's a wired Lavalier mic and you can get it pretty cheap on Amazon.

Another good thing about the zi8 is that you can buy a mini remote control from Kodak.com for less then $20 including shipping. This makes it great for using the zi8 on a tripod and doing talking head sales videos.

When I could, I would rent a high end HD camera and video equipment for some more professional looking videos. If you have the budget its a great option to use for higher quality video and audio. Video rental usually runs me about $119 for HD camera, $17 for wireless lavalier mic, $5 for an xlr adapter if your camera is not able to take a wireless mic receiver.

Kodak Zi8 and a lavalier mic get the just done just as well.

Like others, Kodak Zi8 is the best buy & get an external mic. The popular Flip camera can't use an external mic.
