Best List Building Course - What's Your Thoughts?

Warriors..

I need a really good list building course and would like some
recommendations. What's the best out there?

Really would like some recommendations from other Warriors.

I have a small list (about 8000 now) that converts BUT am
really looking to ramp things up substantially in the coming
months and would like to learn from "the best."

Cost is a non-issue.

Is Tellman Knudson a good way to go (and if so, which one of
his products)? Is there someone (or anything) better out there?
Please share your thoughts / experience.

Also, if wouldn't mind outsourcing some of my niche list building
so any tips on where to go for that, I'm all ears.

Mainly though, I'm looking for a strong list building course so I can
get my list from generating 100k's a year, instead of 10k's a year.

Thanks!

I just got done taking Justin Michie's List Building course.

It was a great course and easy to follow.

This course is also good for the newbie in mind.

      Hi,

Can you share what have you learned from the course? I also saw that invitation by Justin, but I wasn't able to join the course. Is it really possible to build 500 subscribers in one month according to Justin's claim?

      Hope to hear from you.

Chad Kimball, who is a warrior here, does a very good list building course imo. I have list control too but Chads is a good one to have in your arsenal

Gary, I took the course as well but wasn't able to achieve the 500 subscriber list. Achieved just under 40 with a few unsubscribes. In the forums, there were similar comments. I think the course was good for a newbie, but nowhere did we came close at all to reaching the 500 subscriber list. I have just posted in Justin's forum to see what else he can help with to achieve the promised goal.

  • It seems like you're already making good money from your lists, which means you certainly know the basics of list building. I'd say that from now on it's all about scaling it up and that comes down to targeted traffic. You might want to search for traffic generation courses instead of list-related courses.

I agree. Most list building courses cover the basics, and it is really traffic generation courses that allow you to grow your list quickly (this is just my personal experience).

If you already have a list of 8,000, it sounds as if you have a good grasp on the list-building process, and just want to accelerate your efforts. Focus on traffic strategies to increase the amount of targeted traffic to your squeeze page.

The basics (article marketing, classified ads, forum marketing, guest blogging, etc.) have allowed me to generate a good bit of targeted traffic in a variety of niches.

You havn't done it and, it's highly likely you have NEVER
done it nor consider this high-level of traffic generation,
    and that is:

    Direct Mail Marketing.

It is by far, the best quality, fastest way to drive not
just "traffic", but a targeted list of BUYERS to your
    website.

You just can't get the kind of quality and abundent
traffic you'll find in Direct Mail from the internet. And
    I mean it's impossible...not even PPC or Media Buy's
come close...but those two (if you are anal about
sticking with the internet) are the 2nd and 3rd BEST
option to choose to work with.

This is the stuff that makes millionaires like Dan Kennedy
    and Gary Halbert.

It's so unfortunate this topic is rarely if ever talked about
on this forum (and I suspect the biggest reason being the
"cost" of doing it -- which is fairly cheap compared to the
time you have to spend ranking for keywords).

However, the ONLY reason why I mention it to you is BE-
CAUSE you say cost is a non-issue. Everyone else I shake
my head because they're looking for "cheap, cheap, no
    cost{

Direct Mail with a link to your website will take things to
a level that' is difficult for me to put in words when you
    get a targeted list.

And I go to Nextmark to get my list, for now (before I
    upgrade to SRDS)

A warrior called "Kevin Donahoe" has a good course on list building (search his WSO offerings) and another warrior called "winebuddy" has a really good content rich WSO on list building.

If you are looking to ramp things up, I suggest you start investigating some courses on PPV if you want to dramatically increase your subscriber base.

Chris, have you been using ListBluePrint, and if so, what have your results been? What type of list growth / list size have you been able to achieve?

I'm currently writing it! It will be out and free some time next week (unless it's really hot this weekend).

There's actually quite a few course, that when
put together, give you a fantastic resource.

    These products are:

    1. Frank Kern's List Control
    2. Andrew Fox's Affiliate Millionaire
    3. Ryan Deiss Undercover List Building

    Sincerely,
    Igor

The Quality List series from Gary Ambrose is awesome.

It's not on general sale, you'll probably need to buy a high ticket item through his affiliate link, and it was recently included as a bonus to his memberspring launch.

Ryan Deiss did a course with Perry Marshell on sneaky email marketing tips which was good as well, and the concepts in Affiliate Millionaire are sound but the $1k price tag was perhaps a little bit too large.

Anything from Frank Kern, Ryan Deiss or Tellman Knudson is worth looking at.

But here's a simple baby-step blueprint for you:

    1) In whatever niche you're in, develop something of incredible value… something that answers a pressing problem in your niche. It can be in any format… PDF, MP3 or videos. I personally prefer simple but potent short PDF reports.

    2) Once you've got this developed you're going to give it away… It's now time to setup a high converting squeeze page with well written copy… you want to make it as irresistible as you can. A high converting squeeze page can be anywhere from 35%+. A 50-70% conversion rate is also not that uncommon if your offer and traffic is just right.

    3) Now it's time to drive some serious traffic to your squeeze page. My preferred methods are; ezine solo ads, google content network image ads (cheap!) and giveaway events. Article marketing is not a bad idea either.

    4) If time is abundant for you, then you may want to consider sprucing up and extending your original 'giveaway' product, and sell it as a OTO once your subscriber signs up. Here's why… You can now approach JV partners and offer them a commission for every sale made on the OTO (100% commission will really hook them). Your JVs will then send traffic to your squeeze page and build your list for you.

    5) Another option is to 'viralize' your squeeze page. Incorporate a tell a friend script on the backend and give subscribers a further incentive to tell 5 of their friends.

    6) Place optin forms everywhere.. on blogs, minisites... anywhere that's targeted.

Hope this helps get some ideas flowing

    Brent
