Best WordPress Theme for Amazon Site

Hello,

I have good exact match product domain where I am planning to start a Review style blog using ReviewAzon Plugin and Possibly Adsense.

Does anyone know of any good converting(Premium or Free) WordPress Theme for this review style blog?

If you know of any good example of existing similar site, please provide me that.

Thanks.

I have heard that Amazon coverts well only around Christmas time.
Is that true?

What have others found. Let me know.

Amazon converts well at any time of the year. Christmas is always going to be better because more people are in a buying mood.

Amazon knows how to sell so you will find conversions are so much better than with most other merchants.

Same here. I use Flexsqueeze regularly especially if I cannot find a theme that really matches the niche.

I use those types of plugins and I really like them BUT I have had better success with just writing product reviews in Wordpress. The problem with those types of plugins is that people use them to duplicate exactly what is on Amazon onto their own site. It's hard work competing with Amazon when you have the exact same content.

If you are going to use these plugins then make sure you change the content that comes over. They work beautifully that way.

A great theme that I've recently discovered is the Socrates theme by Joel Comm. It's got a custom header generator, including tons of background graphics for almost any niche.

I use it on my blog here: Socrates Theme | Traffic and Conversion

That page is also a full description of the theme, and explains more about why I use it there.

There's also a link on that page to a video about how to customize the them for whatever niche you're in.

Enjoy.

Re: Best WordPress Theme for Amazon Site

I think what theme you use depends very much on what type of site you want. For me its either a site that is very blog orientated or one that is a pure shopping site. Ive gone for the ecommerce/shopping type design for my main sites but but difficult to find a suitable shopping style theme that hasnt got all the fancy shopping cart functionality.

I took a premium theme and edited out all the shopping card funtions in php (which wasn’t easy) and Ive ended up with an e-hop type theme. All without all the shop cart stuff that you use if you ship physical products but with all the stock and product functionality at the
back /admin end. See my signature below for the resulting sites.

If I go for a more blogging feel I use solostream themes

I just feel so many sites go for the typical blog design so i wanted sthg different. I also use the Amaniche mmcommerce theme – although the plugin is ****** problematic. Im trying to wade through all the bugs and come up with solutions to the problems im having with it. Anyway, you can see what Ive done with this theme at buycardvdplayers.net

My conversions to Amazon increased when I started using the ReviewAZON plugin alongside quality unique review content. Having the product image and price information right at the top of the page is important, and ReviewAZON saves so much time and effort to get that done at the click of a button.

Re: Best WordPress Theme for Amazon Site

One of the problems with Amazon astores is that the iframe they use screws up your look as it automatically inserts an iframe that is something like 4500 pixels long!

I am working on a theme that will have an automatically resizeable iframe and the tests are working great... I wonder if there would be much interest?

You would simply enter your astore root URL in one place in a PHP file and it would automatically put your astore in the iframe at the right size - all links would be automatically updated and the shopping cart link would revert back to the original URL at the right size.

I'm going to try to do a similar one next using PHP to automatically grab your astore, but instead of a resizeable iframe, it will put the content right on your page. Ideally using QSA...

Hopefully, it will be ready by the weekend.
I'll probably put it out there under the GPL license and leave two of my backlinks in the theme...

Would there be any interest?

Hi Jeyyt - It's hard to say what the conversion rate is for a theme because it all depends on the content that you write. My theme is optimised to increase conversions, but you need some solid content to start with. My conversions definitely increased since I started using the theme though, I hit my first $1000 month in December and Penthesilea definitely played a part in that.

@sentient and @sickbaomei - thank you so much for your positive feedback :)

This was one of my #1 requests a few months back, just before the Christmas rush, so I created a WP template tuned for Amazon affiliates doing product review sites.

Its been my top selling template until the recent release of the XFactor 2.0 authority site template. Still going strong though and still my favorite work to date.

Its called "Amazonia" and you can check out a demo at the link below along with some hi-res screenshots and step by step instructions on how to make it work with your Associate's affiliate code, carousel widgets, link-wrapped product images etc...

Re: Best WordPress Theme for Amazon Site

I am a HUGE fan of Scott's Clickbump themes - including the Amazonia one. :) I use his themes for Amazon sites and Adsense sites alike. The thing I like best about them is all the technical stuff is taken care of. I don't have to worry about my h1,h2, etc. tags being done right. Plus, the dashboard of the themes is so easy to use!

Oh yeah, and you really should pick up his Clickbump SEO! plugin too. I love how it lets me know what my post is lacking and gives me a score so I know how much I need to do to make it better. My posts have improved so much because I want to score 100 ;)

Anyway - just my 2 cents. I have an entire folder of blog themes, but 98% of my sites use a Clickbump theme of one kind or another.

Hi Scott, your Amazonia theme looks very good. This is probably a dumb question, but in order to get the Amazonia template, do I need to buy Clickbump Engine first and then pay an extra 10 dollars or so for the actual Amazonia template? Or is it possible for me to purchase Amazonia directly...? Thanks.

I don't know of any other theme producers who give you a complete guide on how to use their theme for it's intended purpose. With Penthesilea, you get this helpful guide and more.

Hi ne'er-do-well, not a dumb question at all. Amazonia is premium template that plugs into the ClickBump Engine (aka CE4) which is the main WordPress Theme. CE4 is SEO optimized and has been meticulously written in xhtml/css markup to insure its the fastest loading, best validating, highest ranking, point-click-done, WordPress theme available today, bar none.

http://clickbump.com/wp-content/uplo...g-645x1024.jpg

So CE4 is all you need to run Amazonia and dozens more premium templates that are available for $10 each and install into CE4 with a one click uploader.

BTW, Check your PM ;-)

Socrates is extremely flexible and easy to use. There are preset fields to put links to various affiliate sites including an Amazon field (sort of like Adsense). There are also headers you can use or you can upload your own.You can do just about any thing you want including stuff specific to Amazon. There is a demo on the site. I like it a lot and right now it is the only theme I use. Example of one of my sites using Socrates is: Welcome to Your References on Genealogy (Home)

Amazon definitely knows how to sell, but more importantly, **your** site needs to be at or near the top of the search results or its not going to matter how well the affiliate site converts if potential buyers don't hit **your** page first.

For that, Your theme should have clean, fast loading markup (preferably xhtml with streamlined css that's linked, not inline) and hits all the marks in terms of its built-in SEO features in order to showcase your well-written, highly-researched, killer converting pre-sale copy and product reviews.

To test this, right click out in the margin of your home page and click "View Source". If you see more "Code" than "Words", your content-to-markup ratio is working against you and it can be worth several ranking points.

The reason for this is, Google bot is a blind viewer, it sees what's under your visual display, all of the stuff you probably never pay much attention to, this is how Google bot sees your site!

So now you can see that if your page is weighed down with a bunch of junk code, your content (the stuff that google is actually searching for to determine where to rank your page) is competing with your markup (the stuff your theme developer had to place there in order to make it pretty and have fancy gadgets) for valuable attention.

Bottom line: you are looking for speed, fast load times that Google rewards with higher rankings, and a high content-to-markup ratio (which is one of the least known secrets in SEO and the key to why sites running my theme consistently outrank competing sites).

Flexsqueeze is primarily for squeeze pages, or sales pages - but Flexibility 3 is the freemium theme that converts like crazy.

I use it on a lot of websites, it's very customizable, and the paid version is only $47 if you want to get rid of 4 footer links (one to the Flexibility 3 website).

I had no trouble selling with it before I bought it, I just bought it to get rid of the footprint and not to leak any traffic anywhere.

The ClickBump 5 theme displays a single designated post or page that you choose for the home page. This gives your home page maximum ranking power for the site's primary keyword phrase.

Yes, just don't designate a post as sticky and use the "More" link insert tool to add a post summary break point to each of your front page posts. I don't recommend this unless you don't care about ranking the front page (which is usually the most heavily trafficked page in your site).

Can anyone tell me if the clickbump themes come with free lifetime upgrades? I noticed at the bottom of the salespage at clickbumpengine.com it says "Your purchase comes with lifetime product support and 6 months of free upgrades at no extra charge and you own the software forever to use on an unlimited number of sites that you own.". What happens if a theme is not compatible with a future version of wordpress and my 6 months of free upgrades has expired? Do I have to pay extra to get the upgrade?
