I prefer MNF. Fairly easy to use. Good depth of results and it provides a lot of information on the competition for the keyword.

Have not used Niche Inspector in a while. The last time I used it, the numbers were coming from Yahoo and weren't all that accurate. Granted, it's been a while so I'm sure they have improved upon that.

I can't comment on Niche Inspector since I haven't used it, but I did purchase MNF, and can say it's a fantastic product. They recently updated from version 3 to version 4, and it's even better than before. I use it quite frequently to find niches that receive quite a bit of traffic but low competition!

I know this thread is comparing MNF vs NI but is Micro niche finder better than Keyword Elite?
      {{ DiscussionBoard.errors[208293].message }}

Both have their pros and cons! Keyword Elite, allows you to pull keywords from multiple sources and utilize your accounts with Wordtracker etc, while Micro Niche Finder uses the Free wordtracker tool and Google, that means you have to enter the captcha. That can be annoying and the main pitfall for MNF in my opinion.

The latest version of MNF is greatly improved though from version 3. What I also like about MNF is the brainstorm feature and the trends. There are features in Keyword Elite that are great as well, which is why I've invested in both to get the benefits of both pieces of software

They are not exact matches in terms of their setup, but they are very similar in what they are trying to achieve, but both have features that the other is lacking, which is why I decided to get both.

I use both Micro Niche Finder and Keyword Elite.

As mentioned above, they overlap in a number of ways and each has strengths in some areas. MNF is probably half the price of KE, so comparatively is excellent value.

The new version of MNF is especially useful. The trend lines are an especially useful guide. These are taken from Google and give a good indication of what keywords are being searched for at different times of the year. I'm using it quite a bit at present for information about niches I'm identifying in the lead up to Xmas. Naturally, sales for some products soar - are 5 times as strong - during Nov/Dec compared to the rest of the year.

MNF is also very helpful in locating those keywords I might want to use for articles and/or blogs to support websites I'm building for Christmas products.

The captcha required by MNF is required far less often in the new version, since they switched over to data from Google.

I like KE and use it extensively, mainly when I want an overview of a niche and when trying to get an idea of Google bid prices and supply/demand figures for sub niches within a broad niche. As it uses the Google suggestion tool it also gives a good idea of synonyms that are worth considering. The captcha is now about the same as with MNF.

As stated above, they complement each other well. I actually started out with MNF and found it extremely useful. I find the SOC feature gives you the heads up if you should go for the niche or stay clear.

I'm still going through the Keyword Elite video training and have used it to create a campaign I will be running soon. It's a lot easier to get my keyword list with KE but I'll find out soon how good they are.

If you can afford it, get both. It also depends on what your going to do. KE gives you the ability to check out your competition's ads with one of its features that I find extremely useful if you are going to run PPC campaigns.

I've used both programs and continue to do so because basically they compliment each other.

I started with niche inspector, obviously because it's been out longer. There are great options for filtering your keywords based on kei scores, count searches, and adwords cpc. Plus it searches more than one search engine.

Micro Niche Finder picks up where other niche research software leave off. With it I can find affiliate programs, search for available domains, and it's super easy to use. The only downfall is that it only searches Google.

Keyword Elite is another one I have.......I buy too much stuff! :p
Not as user friendly as the first 2, and difficult to use. I have not utilized it as much as the others.

      Hope that helps!

Does anyone know how accurate the Adwords CPC values are in Niche Inspector? I like that it has the range of prices for broad, phrase & exact (plus the filtering), but couldn't determine where that data originated.

Also the numbers for google advertisers doesn't seem that accurate... It doesn't show Overture advertisers at all and as for KE on step 2 doesn't show the CPC

          NICHE INSPECTOR by MYLEENA PHAN
          -------------------------------
After purchasing Niche Inspector for $127 on 06 November 2008 with PayPal, I have still not heard from Myleena Phan about the non-delivery of the Niche Inspector software. In desperation, I wrote to PayDotCom on 19 Nov. This was their reply:
          "Hello.
I'm sorry, but this person has been suspended from PDC for failing to pay thousands of dollars in commissions among other things.
She cannot be reinstated unless she takes care of all outstanding debts (including yours) and she has also not responded back to my efforts to contact her.
          Take Care,
          Steve
          Support
          PayDotCom"
So, it seems that the seemingly friendly Myleena Phan has disappeared with my $127 and a lot of other people's money!
          ---------------------------------
          To all Niche Inspector users,
PLEASE, if there's any kind soul out there who has the software, I'd be grateful if you'd send it to me at mailbox(at)AbacusData.com, or tell me the Niche Inspector download link (even if you zip your own installation file, put it on your web space, and tell me the URL). THANK YOU! At least then I shan't have lost my money for nothing.
I am looking for such a tool to complement a product I am developing at NicheSiteCreator.net. My product creates the actual web pages, but it needs a suitable niche-oriented keyword list to feed into it, in order to do so. I'd appreciate some reviews and suggestions for enhancements, please, when Niche Site Creator is finished.

That is a major bummer NicheSiteCreator. I really do sympathize.

I could give you the download page but it doesn't sound as if the software would work for you because you wouldn't be registered to use it, and it does need that input to open.

Perhaps there's an opportunity here for James Jones, who could offer MNF (which I prefer using anyway) at some kind of special "NI WTF" discount?

    Just a thought James.

I had all along suspected something fishy with this lady. Never responds to service requests. I bought this software seeing the recommendations from big time gurus. Why name them here and spoil their names too? Thats not the point. She claims to own 36 adsense sites that make her $15 per day. That works out to $16000 per month! I don't understand why people who make that kind of money need to steal their own affiliates' commissions at such great risk to their own credibility and reputation at major affiliate networks like Paydotcom! The sales letter is still there. But try ordering and it says -"Product is no longer being sold". All I know is I just lost $127 of my hard earned money.

Looks like we are all in the same boat here. I have had a service ticket in for 3 weeks and have not had a response.

NicheSiteCreator, I have a few versions of the zip and exe files on my system at home. I won't be there until later Tuesday night but could forward a couple to you. I'm not sure if they will work but it may be worth a try. The registration is checked by the email you used to purchase so who knows it may work.

Let me know if I can help.

I have both and have used both; at least, until recently. Last week I picked up a virus that attached itself to MNF, and I can't seem to shake it. Don't know if it came from one of the updates, or not (probably not), but now I'm forced to use Niche Inspector (and/or Market Samurai).

Anyway, both products do a good job of helping you zero in on niches, via keyword research. Each has their own set of tools; many overlap, some don't. Both are good chocies, IMO.

    I hope this helps.

      Hey Scott,

I have a suggestion...go download "Super Anti Spyware Professional"

      www.superantispyware.com

They have both a free version and a paid version. Download both.

The "Professional" paid version has a 45 day free trial. Install that one and use it. It does a remarkable job of cleaning up the nasties you pick up on your computer.

Run the full scan option. It may take an hour, but it gets it all and then you can quarintine the bad stuff and you should be fine.

      Worked for me!

I had them both until Niche Inspector went belly up. I used to communicate with Myleena Phan on the regular about her software about bugs and such and it was improved. I'm not sure what happened to her but I honestly don't think that a person having success would just decide to turn evil.

The problem with 1,2 or 3 person operations is that if that person gets ill, or suffers some type of catastrophic, life changing event things can turn sour quickly. I hope she comes around because the product was really good.

Micro Niche Finder is great as well. The same goes for James Jones in that I have contacted him with my findings and suggestions he is good at listening and implementing user ideas. I used both because they offer a little different data before I make my final call on what niche to dominate. I even have a keyword phrase that I rank number one for out of over 19,400,000 serps (search engine results pages) and I don't even have any content on the site yet by combining the use of both products. Of course I use the best CMS to build my sites and that helps with the serps too.

I have no experience with NI. I used MNF quite a bit. Got into grad school and haven't used it much lately. My only complaint (which may have been fixed in an ugrade I missed) was that the program only delivered results with the keyword I entered at the very beginning of the keyword phrases it delivered.

For example, if I entered "xbox 360", MNF would give me results like...

          xbox 360 game
          xbox 360 accessory
          xbox 360 control
          etc.

          but not...

          buy xbox 360
          games for xbox 360
          etc.

Again, this may have been changed in an upgrade. MNF is useful for uncovering some overlooked niches and longtail phrases but it definitely should not be your only keyword research tool.

Wow... thats bad news.. I haven't used my niche inspector in a while, it doesnt run on my mac and second thing is... I don't think this method of keyword research (for the purpose of selecting a phrase to rank on the first page or the top spots on Google) still works.. even if you had a huge KEI or a really good ratio, even if you had just 10 competing pages ranked for a keyword phrase but those ranked pages have a million backlinks.. you still can't come in and compete..

Here's a follow-up post to the one I wrote a couple of days ago. I wanted to make two additional points.

First, in the earlier post, I referenced both MNF, and a virus that my computer picked up, in the same sentence. Looking back, it has occurred to me that one could infer that the virus came from MNF. That is NOT the case. I am sorry if the implication was otherwise.

Somehow, the virus just decided to attach itself to MNF (and one additional program as well). Since my first post, I have cleared away that virus.

Second, today I received an email from James Jones, over at MNF. He had read my post and, despite any evidence that would suggest the virus came from his company, he wanted to make sure my problem was fixed. So, he emailed me offering a re-install of the product.

WOW! In an age where we all are concerned about, and write incessantly about, poor-quality customer service, here is a guy that steps up, without being asked, and fixes the problem anyway! No explanations, no blaming, no excuses, just an honest to good solution!

As I posted earlier, I think that MNF is a very good product. Now I can say the same for the company as well. If you are considering this type of product, you would do well to consider that company that supports it.

I can tell you that, because of an James' email, MNF has a customer for life.

I guess you can add me the list of NI customers who has a non-operational version of the software now. It's now telling me that my email is not in the list of registered users.

I actually stopped using NI a while ago because I could never get it work very long without getting banned by Google for too many requests. I tried playing with the throttle settings although that never seemed to work.

The good news is that I'm also a happy and satisfied customer of MNF. Great user interface, reliable updates, doesn't seem to get banned by Google.

It's a shame that NI stopped working. It was a great tool for locating long tail keywords to use. I have wordtracker and can use other resources along with wordtracker but NI did it faster.

I have been trying for three week to contact her. Guess I will file a complaint with PayPal and then see if I can find somebody to reverse engineer the software to remove the license check. I normally would not try to have software reverse engineered but it seems she has dumped all of us so there isn't much choice other than just writing off the cost of the software.

MNF is best for me too. I can use it for SEO or PPC campaigns plus it has lots of options like to search for content, google trends, clickbank-amazon product search, domain lookup, article finder, etc.

Plus it brings so much detailed results, but the best thing I like in MNF is their SOC option (Strength of Competition). Its a great tool to find niche markets.

The support is very good and I always get response from Kevin (their support guy) in a matter of minutes. I wonder if that guy ever sleeps.. lol.

Agreed. The check on strength of competition is great. People usually suggest going for under 30,000 competitors on a keyword, etc. but MNF tells you how strong that competition is at a glance, beyond mere numbers.

          Gorri,

I too own and use Market Samurai, and it is a really slick piece of software which runs on Macs as well as PCs. The only thing I do not like about it, is that it never researches more than 200 keyword phrases. If you want more, you have to open another tab, based on a different keyword. I find that a PITA after having been an ecstatic user of NicheInspector for many years. In N.I. I could have a list of thousands of keywords, then filter them down to a top-notch handful.

Last thing I read on Myleena's (dead) blog, http://myleenaphan.com/ which started in 2006 but seemed to die out soon after, was that her father was very ill and she was depressed about it. I don't regard her as a crook. She was always helpful and responsive to my requests before. I reckon she's had a family tragedy and that has taken her away from the internet business.

I have no intention of trying to hijack this thread. And I'm going to look at Micro Niche Finder right now.

          Cheers,

Sorry it took so long to respond - Thank you so much for the replies Kevinw1 and Veotis. Based on the fact that you get the full version of the software on your own machine - and the videos showing it in action - I am definitely going to get this software. Thanks again.

I've had the updated version of Niche Inspector sitting on my desk top immobile because after the last update, the software just doesn't work and the owner of this product seems to be so preoccupied with many other things that she hasn't replied to my support ticket.

On the other hand, MNF has been so well attended to by JJ that it's become such a favorite of mine when it comes to searching for the "hidden" niche within niches - definitely a must have software for any internet marketers, if you ask me.

Always go with those softwares that are well attended to and updated responsibly by their owners because personally I've purchased way too many of those that are just dead ducks now due to the fact that they're not kept up to date.

I think I'm in the right place to ask this question,
I'm really interested in getting micronichefinder, watched the videos, even recommend some people to get it.

I then began to search the site, but I found 3 adwords ads yet different domains for the same keywords micronichefinder???
Where is the original site for micronichefinder?

    Thank you

    Hi vicone,

I just happen to know about the two pages thing, the first one with the audio right?

What can cause confusion is that because this product is so popular, some people claimed that you might get scammed by entering the wrong site, at least that what the ads in adwords say - Wow talk about competition between IMers...

Don't Be Fooled By MicroNicheFinder Check This Before Waste Money.
Those are the descriptions on the ads, while the descriptions might suggest you could get scammed from other sites, the truth is they lead to the same sales pages,

I guess its a fair competition to do this, for me, I got PM told me he has an affiliate link to micronichefinder - I prefer this method actually.
