Anybody know of some software which can transcribe audio from a video into a text article ? Know plenty that do it the other way, not seen anything automated that can manage it this way around. |

That would be an interesting piece of software! I'd love to see if anyone has a recommendation for this.

Cogi.com can take audio or video and transcribe it to text I use it all the time. Relatively accurate but you need someone to go over the final output to make sure everything makes sense. - Adam |

Are the YouTube video's yours? The reason I ask is that YouTube has been beta testing a closed captioning function for a video's audio, but I'm not sure if you could access the text, copy it and paste it into Word, plus you would need to login to get to it as well. If it works, I'll let you know. |

Depending on the amount that needs transcribing, and how concerned you are about accuracy (and not having to mass edit afterwards), you might actually find that it's cheaper to hire someone to do this for you, rather than rely on software. There are plenty of people who can do this on the standard outsource sites, and also in the Warriors For Hire section of this very forum. Thom |

and it seems accurate, if that was available as a transcription that would be incredibly useful. | |

Since no one has mentioned it yet, I will point out that there are people on Fiverr who are transcribing videos to text for $5. One that came up with a quick search is: moronic_kaos: I will transcribe YouTube or similar site's videos for $5 at Fiverr.com |

I've been testing contractors on Fiverr.com lately for this. Of the three sets, my limited experience has been 2 are late in delivering and 1 was about 80% accurate. I'm still testing this. I wonder if Dragon NS can handle this task? |

Fiverr is great and Dragon dictation (app) isn't bad if you're in a crunch.

Hi mort13, If Fiverr doesn't work for you, I can help with your videos. I've worked with several WF members and I offer a discount to members of the forum ($45 per audio hour). Best of luck to you, Kim |
