I've got so much from this section of the forum that I thought I should give back and share some stupidly profitable methods I've risked money on, some have worked dreamily, some, an absolute waste of my time... Ok, I'll admit, I'm an ULTRA geek. I love the mathematics behind conversions, headline split testing, open rate's and pretty much everything that will guarantee the repulsion of the opposite sex for the rest of my life... But hey, I Make Money! So, I've been split testing Ultimate Footer Ad for pretty much.. ever.. Conversions were pretty good actually, got a nice collection of list subscribers but my CPL was pretty much destroying my profit margins... The backend funnel is tight, but the front end is basically destroying my chance to make *Serious* money... This all changed when I met Michael Dunlop at an IM convention in London a couple of months ago.... Little did I know this chance meeting would completely transform my business ! He's a nice nice guy, kinda reserved and always seemed like he was calculating something behind his eyes, but when we sat down and I managed to crack open this fountain of knowledge in his head, I saw an opportunity that since, has almost tripled my front end conversions ! (249% increase in opt-ins!) Michael gave me a trial test of his new product, Popup Domination. I'm not big on html and coding and that kinda stuff, I have people who do that for me, but this was easy as pie in wordpress, literally install and click 'GO' and now I have a hover optin on my page which has increased my list nearly three fold... Now I know what you're thinking... Pitch fest... Well, quite frankly I don't really care if you buy it or not. I mean Michaels a cool bloke and I've got some sick content from him while on his list, but this product has done for me what UFA, Aweber hovers, animated optin boxes and exit pops have all failed to do. Looks Great + Easy To Implement + Massive Increase In Conversions = WINNER ! I'm not an affiliate, and don't make money from suggesting this to you, but out of all the opt-ins products I've tried, Popup domination comes under the Highly Recommended category ! Check it out PopUp Domination | How To Explode Your Mailing List (Clean Link) Here's to your success online M |

M What's different to this from a standard light box opt in ? Is it just the fact the opt ins, look nice ? Does he do a version for HTML as opposed to Wordpress? |

I bought this plugin and it's pretty good for the price. However there are a couple of changes I'd like to see if possible. Firstly the plugin is simple and easy to use. Just choose a template and add your headline, bullet points and picture etc then decide on what colours you want for the template. I haven't tested it but I'm sure that it'll be quite effective in getting people to optin. However here's my problem with the plugin.. I was planning on using it on one of my websites that talks about several different topics and therefore would like to be able to have a different hover box on each page. But with this plugin you can only have one hover box which shows up on every page of the blog. There doesn't seem to be an option to choose on what pages you want it on etc. This may be ok for most people but I would like to see an option where we can create our hover box and then the plugin gives us some code that we can paste into the post html so we can have several different lead capture forms on out blog. For example if somebody has a review site that talks about a "dog product" and another page about a "parrot product". This plugin would be useless however if you could just create the form and then paste the code into the post then we could show a dog training freebie optin form to the "dog product" visitors and a parrot training freebie optin form to the "parrot product" visitors. So for that reason I can't use it on the site I wanted to however it's still pretty good but needs a lot more advanced options etc. If you're looking for a simple hover box plugin for your blog then this'll be ok for you but at the moment if you need something more advanced there are better options out there for example action popup at Action PopUp: Attention-Grabbing Unblockable PopUps When Your Visitors Leave the Page... which is a similar price and has a lot more customizable and has more advanced options. If Michael can take a look at action popup and match the options their plugin has then that would be excellent however at the moment popup domination is too basic for me and lacks quite a few "must have" options that the competitor has. I do like the templates provided though, they look pretty nice. So yeah not bad but definitely not great. But then it's early days and I'm sure there will be better updates and feature addons in the future. Will |

It does look like a good product, I may invest in it myself. But the improvements suggested by Will above would really make it the "game changer" that Michael describes his product as... David |

Well lets face it, this is an advertisement and NOT giving back to the forum, but I can read through that. ![]() Nonetheless, both of these products look interesting to me, but I do have some reservations about pissing off my visitors as I have NEVER used anything that is so-in-your-face. Since this is the review section, I would like to hear about others who use such pop-ups and any back-lash they may have rec'd from their visitors. |

Hey Marty To be honest mate I kind of resent that accusation.. If it was an advertisement I'd have put my affiliate link in the url and I wouldn't have been as long and drawn out as to explain the story... This IS NOT a sales pitch. To be honest, even if this pop does peeve my customers off, I would like to think the value in the offer I am promoting on the lightbox more than outweighs the mere inconvenience of the pop coming up for afew seconds. I agree with a lot of what you are saying Amity, it's a cool little plug so that idiots like me don't have to mess around with code all over the shop and it's versatile with respect to what it can do. I think on the site it said they are looking at releasing new templates every so often for the purchasers but not sure about any other changes. |

Great tip and great product for the price. I installed it on my blog and watched my opt-in rate triple. Pop-ups work and I have not had anyone complain about it. My 2 cents. Gauher |

Hi Simon, Actually I was using nothing but an opt-in form on the right side of the blog (on the site, not a pop up). I am not a huge fan of putting pop-ups on my web sites, but at the end of the day you have a choice between possibly tripling your opt-in rate or annoying a few users. I think if your web site offers good value, it is small nuisance to have to close a pop up box for the user and most do not mind. Gauher |

to this plugin and trebled opt ins, now that woulda been something :-) We run a popup on all our blogs, nobody has ever complained, not once, we give them a pretty decent lead magnet, we actually get plenty of thanks for the reports.

Thanks Melodican, this looks very promising. He offered a $10 discount when I clicked away from the page, so it's looking more attractive. I only wish it would work on HTML sites or other CMS's. |

I agree that Popup Domination does a great job. It has certainly increased subscriptions on the blog I have installed it on. And it looks great. However, I have one problem which is that I've had several emails from people asking me how to close it. That puzzled me as on my browsers (IE8 and FF) the popup has a clear X to close it at the top right. Eventually, someone sent me a screen shot and it seems that on some computers the popup displays very high up on the page and the closing X is above the top. So for those people it IS impossible to close down. I don't know the cause (I haven't investigated that far yet) but I'm wondering if the users screen size makes a difference. It is a relatively small problem, but it is one I'd quite like to see the developer address. Martin |

I can personally recommend Pop-Up Domination. Michael is a friend of mine and offered to give me Pop-Up Domination for free, but I actually paid him for it - that's how good it is. We have a web design site that uses it and as soon as we activated the plug-in, it started getting 200+ sign-ups daily. |

Hi, could someone please verify; if Popup Domination is installed, will be active on all pages?? Does it recognize someone who already subscribed? - Can you specify rules - pages - timing etc? Quote:

H WP plugin version allows the pop up appear on all your blog pages, but the standalone version for web sites requires you place the code on all pages you want the pop up to appear. Martin.Avis - I had the same problem and simply switched the template to to the wide form which solved that problem. Gauher |

guys popup domination 2.0 has a lot of the features you are asking for - i.e. choose which pages it shows up on, has a standalone version so you can use it even if you are not on WP now..plus more features including new templates. if you buy popup dom 1.0 now then 2.0 will be a free upgrade otherwise i heard 2.0 is going to be double the price |

Sure worth the investment, I have been testing it and my optin's have dramitically increased, for the price it sure is worth the investment as it is soo easy to setup and it doesn't half look bad |

Hi I bought this yesterday, its pretty good, but I'm having an issue with the pop-up triggering no matter where you go on the page? Im using it on a regular PHP page, not WP or anything In the schedule I have it set to show 'When mouse leaves the site' but at the moment it shows constantly as soon as you touch the mouse or try to scroll I have contacted support, but it seems the helpdesk is offline right now... Anyone else found this problem/have any ideas for a solution? Thanks |

I have installed it today on a non Wordpress site (the stand alone version). I have to say the instructions weren't the best, but i eventually configured it. The only issue i am having is that when you test & hit the submit button, nothing happens. I've contacted support too, but no answer back yet (although to be fair it is the weekend). The other thing I am unclear about is the upsell. One of the offers is for an unlimited license so you can use it on a variety of sites. I didn't take it, but am now wondering if that means I can only have it installed on one site? If that is the case, good as it may eventually be, that's $144 in total ($77 for product then $77 for the unlimited license) for effectively a lightbox that you can get free on Wordpress and with Aweber anyhow? I've asked that question too - will advise further when i get an answer. if anyone that has used it may have the solution to my submit issue, id appreciate the nod. I'm guessing it must be to do with the awebber html code (?) that i inserted - although i know not what. |

I reported this problem as well. I like the on-mouse-out option best, but right now, it's configured badly. It should only appear once. I got a reply saying that they're looking into it, so here's hoping for an quick update.

I had the same issue with the "When Mouse Leave the Site" option and was sent an updated script file which fixed this particular problem. The only downside is that it still pops if you hover over the scroll bar. So this didn't quite work as I thought it would. And I asked if that could be fixed and was told that there was no promises but he could look into it. I am now trying the On Exit option with little success as well. In IE7, it doesn't work period. In the latest version of FF, I have to change tabs and then back in order for it to pop. So far they were very supportive prior to the weekend so hopefully the support continues.

I just go an update from their support guy and it fixed the problems that I was having. Granted this is with the standalone version so I have no idea regarding the Wordpress version. One other tiny issue I fixed myself and sent him the fix I made in case he wanted to incorporate it. But I haven't seen any mass email update. Not sure why. But the version I have works like a charm now. |

I'm not sure if anyone else is having the same problem. I just bought Popup Domination yesterday and am trying to integrate the wordpress plugin with my aweber autoresponder. I'm having some of the following issues: 1. My form only has a required email address field. But the form not verifying if the entry is an email address or not. I entered anything onto the form and it just showed the audio confirmation page. 2. Upon clicking submit, it takes the user to an audio confirmation page to ask them to check their mailbox. My default confirmation page selection for the form is a video confirmation page. 3. Biggest problem. The email I submitted is not sending to aweber. Has anyone experienced the same issue and how did you work around it? I suspect this has something to do with the html code I entered. I'm also quite disappointed with the Popup Domination support as well. I've sent a ticket and haven't received any reply yet. So if anyone here can help, it'll be most appreciated. |

Popup Domination is a decent product. Load time is a little slow compared to just a regular aweber pop up, but its a good looking pop up and it does work well other than the slow load times.
