Keyword Research Pro Review - Watch Out

About a year ago I bought Keyword Research Pro. There are many positive reviews online from the people pitching Clickbank products. You know the people trying to sell Clickbank stuff but who don't actually own the product or have never actually used it.

Well I do own it and I have used it quite a lot.

And while it's an okay product for what it does - which is filter results from several FREE keyword tools - WordTracker Free, Google Adwords, KW Discovery etc. it has one glaring problem.

Built into the software is a "Phone Home" feature to authenticate the license. And while I understand an authors right and desire to protect their intellectual property and make a buck the way that Keyword Research Pro authenticates can render the software completely useless.

You would think that after you purchase a program legally you could use it whenever you want right? Well that's what I would think. Because why would any one buy software they wouldn't use?

Well unfortunatley that doesn't seem to be the case with Keyword Research Pro from Fabian Lim.

Several Times in the past few weeks I have tried to use the software and it just hangs on the license authentication. So I can't work when I want to work.

Is this network congestion? Who knows - at the time I try every other program I am using works just fine. Is this Fabian Lims inability to run his own server? Maybe.

Bottom line is I can't use the software.

And yes I have contacted them and they have not offered a solution. They treat me like criminal who doesn't know how to run his own PC.

Sad.

I honestly wish I had purchased Keyword Elite. Brad Callen's software while not perfect seems to always work. I know he is on here from time to time and I have bought several of his other products like SEO Elite and recommended them to friends. So far they have all been happy with the bang for buck.

Lesson learned... Buy what you know works.

I know this is digging up an old thread but I wanted to add something to this, something which may not be relevant in this case but something I wish I'd known and which would have saved me so much time and frustration.

I had a similar issue with a few different products (none of which were KRPro but as no-one has responded to this I'm sure there'll be no objection to my hijacking the thread).

A lot of products use methods of authentication whereby it checks your hardware for changes and if it finds any (usually major stuff like new chip, motherboard etc) then it flags up a problem. This in turn may cause issues when the products authenticates.

I had a dodgy RAID driver on my hard drives which gave seemingly random ID readings and caused me to have this license issue every time. In fact it was only the patience of the software owners who kept re-authenticating me which enabled me to get to the bottom of it.

    Whats my point?

If you get this type of license issue, check that the issue isn't your end, meaning, make sure you haven't changed your network card or CPU or made any other 'major' system modification. Or even, as in my case, had something seeming to error on system boot up (when the black and white BIOS stuff flashes up when you start up your machine) even though there was no obvious error on the system.

    Anyway, hope this helps someone.

This has happen to me a few times, and the owner, or business, has went broke, bankrupt, fled, who knows. But still the business is gone and you're high and dry.

There is only one solution that I know but most people wouldn't feel comfortable doing it.
