I would suggest that you spend the $100, it is one of the best $100 i have ever spent. Make sure you learn how to use it correctly first though!

I would advise looking for a free trial or risk free offer to either "Keyword Spy," "Wordtracker," or "Keyword Country" (they have a free trial) if you're in a hurry. Other than that I think "Micro Niche Finder" is $97, that's pretty good. |

As much as it pains you to part with that money it's well worth it in my opinion, combine it with MNF and you have some serious niche finding potential!!

If all you need is the keyword research feature, doesn't market samurai's keyword research module stay active after the trial period expires? If I remember reading the sales page correctly, only the additional modules are lost if you do not register your copy - and trust me, it's a huge loss - but if all you need is keyword research to get your feet through the door while you save up to buy a full license, by all means, do that.

Micro Niche Finder is a dream come true for me. It has made such a difference in my keyword research and the results of my efforts. It is one of the easiest tool that you could find for keyword research and there is nothing in terms of a training or, coaching that you need to go through in order to use it. I straight away fell in love with Micro Niche Finder. |

Market Samurai is a great tool (disclosure - bought it when it came out and still use it) and it is a great investment in your business. So 2 points - If you can't afford to invest in your business, then it is just a hobby and not a money making venture. Where is your mindset at (and the ability to make money) at? Business or hobby? Secondly, MS is a just a tool that just makes the job easier (ie faster). All of the data sources it gets information from are free and you can go directly to them if you want without spending a cent. It pulls publicly available information from several places and gives it to you in one go. For keyword suggestions, use the Google keyword tool. For competing pages, use the search function. For broad to phrase to exact ratios, use the "" and [] brackets in Google search. I would also use Firefox as your browser and install the SEO plugin. This way you can google and phrase and look at the top google search results. Use the plugin to get an idea of the strength of competition (backlinks etc). Here is a second question though. How much do you value your time? $5 per hour? $20 per hour? If you value your time (and you should consider this an expense if running a business but not so much if it is a hobby) at say $20 then you only need to save yourself 6 hours and you are in front. In summary - if you have a business, get the tools and don't cripple your efforts. Business is hard enough as it is without trying to run with your shoelaces tied together. If you are doing it for hobby and earning cash is a secondary factor, just use the free tools. Thats all you need if you are just focusing on a market or two. |

Market Samurai is probably the best investment I made of all my purchases. I cannot stress enough how important a good keyword/market research tool is. The guys from Commission Blueprint has a good "quick" called Keyword Blueprint tool but you have to buy their course (which is pretty good).

The keyword module in MS is free. Even after the trial period. Just the other modules cost to be activated.

I like both MS and traffic Travis. TT brings back a LOT of KWs, and then I put them thru Samurai. Also use micro niche finder and like it, but it's slow sometimes. May be trying out Wordze soon also. Always looking!

First, You don't spend $100 on market samurai you invest those $100 on it (I'm a big fan). But if you want to weight alternatives, wordtracker, traffic travis, cherry picker, micro niche finder, keyword spy, niche browser, and old google keyword tool. |

Use google and spend a lot of time searching through is your cheapest way to go but I wouldn't do that. If you are going to be a IM then you need to buy tools. It would be like digging a hole without a shovel.

I must say, MS is the one tool that I use daily. Bought it as soon as it was released and have used it consistently ever since. What I would recommend is to use the Google External Keyword tool until you save up enough to get MS. Honestly...there isn't much that can touch it. -Rusty |

Market Samurai is the best. If you don't want to spend your money, go to Fiverr, and finish 25 jobs there (Fiverr will pay you $4 and they keep $1 for each job, in case you don't know). PS : I wonder why this kind of gig get features so long, thatgirl27: I will write something in the sand for you and turn it into a greeting card for $5 at Fiverr.com (Disclaimer : this gig not belong to me) |

I have used Traffic Travis too. It's a decent keyword tool. However, I don't think it holds a candle to Micro Niche Finder. I have not tried Market Samurai yet. I am going to go for the free trial.

I write a lot of articles and I want to know quickly and accurately what keywords I can write content around, and rank the quickest for. I use Money Keyowrd Finder. It gives me the keywords at a glance. No working out statistics. $77 |

Still hard to beat MS but MNF is a great alternative but I will have to say there are still a great few freebies that have found me ideas and gems that both those tools have not. SEOQuake SEO for FF KeywordSpy free version The best part is they are free and if you find that you really like them I will send you my paypal email. |

I think Market Samurai and MNF go hand in hand, just like what most have said. I mainly use MNF to verify SOC, and validating it side by side with Market Samurai.

Before anyone buys MS i would suggest you try the free version first. My copy quit working and still wont work. I had to delete it from my pc and probably cant use it. I am on a dial up isp though, and the MS crew did try to make it work. There customer service is great. As far as it concerns me. |

Market Samurai is the best keyword research tool out there, IMHO. It's worth every single penny. So you don't need any alternatives. If you're looking for a free alternative, then how about Google's Keyword Tool?

Give Internet Marketing Tools - Hot Niche Spy a look. It's more of an Internet Marketing "multi-tool" but very good for various forms of keyword research.

I have heard only GOOD things about MS from the people in IM that I respect most, so MS is definitely on my wish list. But lately I have been getting recommendations to buy MNF too. I looked at a few videos and MNF looks REALLY user-friendly for a non-techie person like me! :-) SO maybe combing both may be the answer for anyone who seriously wants to build multiple sites. My strategy for now is to stick to one site and build that into a profitable authority site before moving on. |

MS is easy and gives you more data (hard numbers) to consider and in the case of SEO competition gives you the numbers and is color coded. Stick with MS. You won't be sorry.

| I would suggest McDonald's, get a job there as you will save yourself a lot of time and headache. If you do not see value in spending $100 in the most important aspect of Internet Marketing on the best tool in the industry, then this may not be the job for you.
