Recommend best dedicated managed hosting?

Looking for recommendations on a solid provider for a managed dedicated server.

Down time will not be an option, scalability will be important and fast response to issues.

Appreciate your recommendations on good providers you are working with.

thanks!

If you're running affiliate offers I'd recommend Zensix (google them). The guys running it are familiar with affiliate hosting needs and its pretty reasonable price wise.

    I STRONGLY recommend wiredtree.com

They have the best hardware and support (like 10 minutes or less).

Go to webhostingtalk.com and look for some offer, they often give extra ram or bandwidth if you use their coupon.

    Regards,
    Valerio

Make sure to do your due diligence no matter who you select. Check your local area too - depending on your location you may have several data centers in your vicinity.
Web Hosting Talk and theWhir are both great places to get information.

I would call each one and talk - you'll get the sales person but that ok. Next, call the support desk two or three times at different times of the night and see if a real person answers or if it goes to voice mail. If you have a truly high availability application then make sure a human answers quickly.

Now - are you sure 100% uptime is required? Most folks have no idea of how expensive that can get. Its doable - but expensive. Fail over hardware is available and most data centers today are multi-homed - which means they have connections to the Internet via several different providers; just in case one goes down they can automatically re-route to other.

Any datacenter you'd want to use will provide this - power ping and pipe we called it - but you want to see how they provide the hands on customer service. There's where the differentiators is today in managed services.

As for my personal recommendation - I helped build out Hosted Solutions Data Centers in Raleigh and Charlotte so can highly recommend them. PM me if you'd like a sales associate's information.

    best,
