Default Best Google Places aka Google Maps course?

Fellow Warriors,

Lately there has been an "abundance" of WSO's and courses in general focused on offline business services related to getting businesses in the Google Places/Maps box and or in the #1 position in Google Places.

I'm asking for feedback as to which course that you have personally purchased and implemented is the best value. I am most concerned with;

1. great detailed content
2. how to run it as a business
3. Video to help with my learning style
4. Cost is not the most important thing. I have come to understand the most expensive doesn't mean it's the "best."

Additionally, I am concerned with what happens when Google changes the rules (protocol) regarding Google Places and potentially blows up this business model. I know that's always a concern. Just asking for your thoughts.

Thanks in advance for your feedback and support,

Kevin

From my experience, I purchased to rather good courses/WSO's earlier this year that seemed to be of very good basic structure. They did help me to achieve local listings placement, so they were beneficial. However, these provided about 90% of the same strategies and was a bit repetitive when it came to the second course. One was the Mario Brown one (first) and second was local business directory domination which did cover additional steps by placing some emphasis on other SE listings and directories.

Bot of these WSO's were great values as they were under $30 and even though the second one had many similarities or covered similar steps (particularly in account creation) they provided some worthwhile information for the price.

The question for me becomes whether the new courses will provide a significant amount of different information that is worth the price of buying another course or is it mostly another rehash of the other courses. This is particularly important with one course that is priced significantly higher.

Hopefully there are others that could shed light as to what they got out of the different courses. I would recommend any of the 2 WSOs that I mentioned if: 1) it was your first and only course you plan to buy, 2) assuming that these tactics are the latest (which there is no way to know).

Hey Kevin,

I'm currently updating my course, so you shouldn't get mine as of right now.

I think the easiest way for you to do it is to enter 'Google Places' in the advanced search, selecting only the WSO section.

From there you check the reviews.

Like it was said before, the courses are similar. It's like SEO, the basics are always the same, that's why the courses are similar.

I think I only so one WSO that actually also teaches how to approach clients and how to sell them the Google Places services, the other courses were all about setting up the listing itself.

All the best,
Mario

Actually, not all courses are the same.

In fact, not everything listed in terms of Google Places is a course.

Ken Anderson's program, whose program I host on the webinar in my signature is a bit more than a "course' and does more than the basics.

Ken's Program includes;

1.) Updated Advanced Components
2.) An Active User Forum
3.) Video Answered FAQ Thread in that Forum
4.) Continuous Education (Exclusive Live Member Webinars)
5.) A Cooperative Area for member Task Sharing

I won't go into details about the continuous education, but I can tell you that there is nothing like it on the Warrior Forum or any other offline business forum for that fact.

If you are curious, I would attend one our seeker webinars on Thursday evening at 9 pm EST.

Hey Charles,

Good job promoting the course which is basically the main source for your customers for your outsourcing service, I think you should mention that when you give a review, just to clarify the affiliation.

I have Ken's course, just as any other Places course out there and I never said that they're the same, I said they are similar, especially when it comes to the basic set up of a listing.

He definitely has his unique twists and ideas, so does Google Maps Cash and all the other courses, but I think his is most up to date compared to other courses.

Ken's course is outstanding and it's on average $250 more expensive than the other courses - which makes sense considering all the value that he packed into this incl. the ongoing education as you mentioned.

All the best,
Mario

Look up Offline X Factor from Jack Mize. He had an excellent presentation Google Places as well as several other 'offline' business models. Very active in his forum as well and seems to keep up-to-date with the latest.
Best wishes........

Must say also while I'm here that Mario's case studies and scripts provide a very real world approach to getting offline customers for the first time.

Thank you Filfy, Mario, Charles and Joe,

I appreciate each of you taking the time to give me insight on the variety of courses.

One of the things I'm trying to determine is if Google Places and servicing Offline businesses is the business model I want to go after. It does seem like it can be lucrative.

Additionally, I wonder which is the better approach:

1. Assisting customers to get their specific contact info at the top or in the top 3 of the 7/10 box or

2. SEO my own contact number to the A position, then rent it out via a redirect to the clients phone number to maintain a piece a virtual real estate "rental" if you will.

Any thought?

Thank each of you again for taking the time to respond to me.

Mario and anyone willing to give advice,

I did what you suggested and searched for "Google Places" within Warrior Forum. I read all threads of each WSO and it seems that Kevin (Ken) Anderson's WSO "Google Places Domination" for $297 has the most buzz with 99% positive reviews. The price tag is not out of reach for me, but I'll be very transparent....... my wife thinks I'm nuts continually spending money on "Internet Marketing Training Programs" with ZERO, I mean ZERO--results.

Now I must admit that I am responsible for the zero results, due to WSO hopping. The cyclic loop of:

1. Read and get hooked on WSO by great copy or strong positive review threads.
2. Purchase WSO with high anticipation (Ah yes, this is the one that will work for me!)
3. Read through, start to implement (in most,... no "some" cases).
4. Get stuck on some technical point and or get side tracked in some way.
5. Search for "better, faster, smarter" WSO ...
6. Rinse and repeat.

I said all that to say, IF "Google Places Domination" is one of the best Google Places courses (note: I'm not saying it is, just appears to have the strongest and most positive reviews), I'd be much more comfortable in purchasing the second best that is much, much less expensive. Once I implement and determine that I will actually follow through and take consistent action, then I won't mind spending the $300.

I would really appreciate someone that has purchased several "Google Places [Maps] WSO's to give me their opinion on the best "less expensive" alternative.

Thank you in advance for your response.

Joe,

I looked up Offline X Factor from Jack Mize. Unfortunately, It's closed to the public. Thank you though for the recommendation. I appreciate it.

It's false because you're looking in the wrong places for information, not only do WSO offer a lot of value but so does this forum and for free too. I consider this website one big WSO if you could imagine that.

P.S there are also other products SPECIFICALLY catering to getting offline clients.

I saw it yesterday and it was dirt cheap to, it was something along the keywords of local client. I'm still looking for it, I did perform a search from google but haven't found it yet. Look around these forums, you could never replace the free help for any WSO.

Google Places Domination is probably the best one I have watched to date. I have bought a few of the programs and WSO on Google Places. So I can say that GPD is the best I have watched. Simple and straight to the point.

Jack Mizes Offline X Factor is pretty awesome and he has alot of great tips and ideas in there. There are a few unanswered questions in his program when it comes to keyword research and backlinking his tactics.

But you can get his Offline X Factor for free by doing the 14 day trial ($1.95) at Texas Wealth Club: testimonial

Just navigate away from the page and they give you the trial offer at 1.95

i recommend Google Maps Cash by Chad Kimball. it's way better than Offline X Factor and Google Places Domination and much cheaper too. Offline X Factor doesn't even go into how to get your Google Places listing to the 7-box so I have no idea why people are even recommending that one. Google Places Domination goes into some detail but i really think Google Maps Cash is a lot better

Hi Kevin

We use Google Places Domination as the preferred option as Warriors have seen publicly how much effort Ken is prepared to put into his customers.

Just the numerous Skype calls alone were worth 10 X the course price.

Plus the processes are 99% White Hat in our view.

Regards

given what has been said about the different courses so far

what do people who have commented so far,
think of the google changes made to results

where places is now dominant for many searches

and how has what you have learned done to results you were getting previously?

thanks

I purchased Google Maps Cash and followed it to the letter. I purchased a telephone number and an actual physical address for the city targetted. After 12 months I am at page 4 on Google Places and have rarely been any higher. The businesses shown on Page 1 do not seem to have all or even any of the points recommended in the course, so I have to conclude that it was a failure, and an expensive one taking into account all the money I spent on additional items.

I would be grateful if anyone has any views on this and whether any other courses have better results.

Thanks Mann.

I've started to think that there is another element which is missing in all these courses and that is that Google is influenced by the amount of traffic which is coming to a website.

If you look at the top 7 for a competitive kwd and look at the Alexa figures for those sites, they all seem to be high traffic sites. So somehow you need to get high traffic figures before Google will put you on the 1st page - a bit Catch 22!!

Suppose you could look at very cheap PPC or PPV?
