Is Get-Shorty Good? And How Do You Install It?

I'm still new to creating websites all on my own (just 2 days actually). I'm a bit overwhelmed with the entire process! Currently I have decided to set up a wordpress blog using Hostgator's hosting services.

Where do you actually install files like 'Get-Shorty' (the affiliate link cloaker)? Which subdirectory? Oh btw, is Get-Shorty any good? I like what I see on their home page about how a long affiliate URL can be made to look like this -> yourdomain.com/product. When I try their live demo, the URL is shown as yourdomain.com/shorty/product . This has left me more confused to say the least.

I'm right now staring at my 'File manager' with an expression that goes like this ---->
