Agreed. Namecheap is really good.

And don't forget to search for the COUPON or PROMO codes. You can get whatever you need even cheaper.

I've been using GoDaddy for years now, but due to their slow as molasses site and all that add-on junk they try to sell you, I'm thinking of trying NameCheap. I dread buying or renewing a GoDaddy domain because it's a long process for me. It should just take a few simple clicks to renew, but GoDaddy turns it into a "minefield". And now I'm receiving calls from them to renew domains, and that's another annoyance. Now I'll have to find out how to opt-out of that.

Ha, I thought I was the only one to feel feel the pain. I feel like go-daddy is adding way more to "make more money" but losing customer satisfaction greatly.

Ha, you're not alone. IMO, they are definitely losing customer satisfaction. It's even worse for me than I wrote earlier. The last two times I tried purchasing/renewing from them the site wouldn't let me complete my checkout. I had to call both times to have them complete the transaction after I had the shopping cart ready. It's very frustrating and time-wasting too. I wish they had a "lite" option to just quickly, simply, renew domains.

I pay $6.99 each per year (as many domains as you want .com, .net, .org, .biz, .info, .name, .us all $6.99 each per year) at:

$6.99 domain names, $2.99 website hosting, $0 Internic Fees

You can pay with PayPal or credit card. They resell for eNom. But seem to have a great deal as its more expensive with eNom.

I normally prefer NameCheap.com, but just now found InternetBS.net from another warrior.

You can try them for they sell at $7.49. But, I voted against it. But just wanted to let you know there is an option open.

not sure why you can't pay with paypal on godaddy - I have - for years. Is this a new thing? I've been checking for availables on godaddy and buying on netfirms, because they are cheaper. The .99 cent sales on goddady are usually not the .coms, but .us, .me etc

@Daryl - just checked and sure you can pay with paypal on godaddy - see it right on their front page, they accept EVERYTHING so it seems. I would have been totally floored if they hadn't.

I confirm that dsilvaevan comment. You can pay with paypal in Godaddy, but really is tedious to buy something there, because they treat to sell all that they can.

Yes you can pay with paypal with godaddy. But they don't accept paypal for certain deals such as the 99cents domains. Other than that, godaddy does not come with free whois privacy. Namecheap does and internetbs does for free.

  It's not just the initial investment, but you want to be in business with a registrar who knows what they're doing.
  
  Stick with NameCheap.com, and don't forget they provide free WhoIs Guard for the first year, then it's like $2.50 or so per year.
  
  Current coupons (to use at checkout) are:
  
  GETITCHEAPER (Average Discount approximately $1)
  SWITCH2NC ($1 Off Domain Transfers)
  WGSPECIAL (WhoIs Guard $.99 per year)
  
  These coupon offers come and go, and sometimes there are 1/2 price deals, etc. Focus on doing business with a quality company and don't worry too much about saving $1 or $2 over the next 12 months. Good luck with your search.
