If you have OptimizePress do you need Easy Video Player 2?

I've been looking for tools to produce great looking websites with video squeeze pages and video product launches with little technical know how.

Recently I have come across OptimizePress and launching tomorrow, Easy Video Player 2.
(I also looked at Kajabi but didn't fancy the monthly fee and lack of hosting control).

OptimizePress looks like it produces great squeeze pages and sales pages, whilst Easy Video Player 2 focuses on the video side but also produces launch pages.

So if you have OptimizePress do you really need Easy Video Player or would a combination of both work best?

Do you have any other suggestions for producing great, professional looking websites, squeeze pages, videos etc?

Thanks again for your feedback

    Yeah,

I'm interested in both as well.

Easy Video Player 2 looks slick.

Not sure if you need both.

I'm guessing that whilst OptimizePress is a theme which produces sales pages and squeeze pages etc., Easy Video Player has the flexibility to post videos on WordPress blogs as well as producing video pages.

If anything, I would first get EVP then OptimizePress.

With EVP you can do both video and landing/squeeze page.

OptimizePress makes the landing/squeeze page look great in my opinion.

    I use both here: OptimizePress

The combination of both makes it easy to get great looking pages up fast (after you have set both up for the first time).

    Thanks.

      Thanks Dave

Your page looks great - I was hoping to combine both as well.

    You'll eventually need both.

OP is one WP theme. It shows video sales and squeeze pages. Thats it. The pages are optimized to show video on Ipads and iPhones and eveything else. Awesome.

EVP, is a video hosting script. With it, you can embed video anywhere you want on your non-WP sites or non-OP sites. The new version also let's you create landing pages...but it's still a video hosting script at heart.

Going forward, if you use OP, you'll probably still use EVP to host the video because it can split test.

Easy Video Player creates sales pages and squeeze pages...with split testing and tracking capabilities built-in...

    Why would you want both?

If you want to use Wordpress. EVP 2.0 does create the pages and you can even check so it "looks" like a blog page but it's not Wordpress. So you can still use EVP for your video then post it on your Optimize Press theme if you want to use Wordpress vs. HTML type site.

Not saying one way is better than the other but for folks who like to use Wordpress they would need both.

It does create nice looking pages though... here is a quick test I did using EVP2 to create a page that looks like a blog post.

Because OptimizePress can run my entire Wishlist Membership site from squeeze/sales page to download/member page with one consistent and professional look and feel. BUT...OptimizePress doesn't split test the salespage video or offer video stats. EVP does. In the long run, not split testing your salesvideo will cost you a lot more than what EVP currently costs to own.

At it's core, EVP gets installed on your server lets you upload a video to your server or Amazon S3. Then it spits out some Javascript that you can paste anywhere to show the video. You can paste that code into your salespage, squeeze page, HTML page, member page, thank you page, JV page...anywhere. And it shows stats on the video plus a LOT more.

        Jesus,

Would you mind providing a link to your membership site. I've been trying to find sites created by OP that aren't just sales or squeeze pages.

On the OP sales video/page from what I recall those are the only types of pages shown.

I have sites that sell multiple products and need to know if OP is right for me. Additionally, I'm starting a membership site soon and wonder how OP would handle it.

If a person only wants to put up a sales page or a squeeze page with no video plus Opitimizepress is coming out with membership templates next week.

    @Hugh,

    London here too.

any idea if OP will work ok with wishlist (maybe someone has tested it?) , im making a video based course so want the OP sales page to lead through to clickbank cart then to a set of videos protected on the pages in WP within OP.

Wishlist seems to offer what I need, I asked OP and they hadn't tested it but thought it would.

No EVP is not a plugin. It's a stand alone, web-based software. If you want to use it with WordPress you upload your video to EVP then it generates your code which copy/paste onto your Wordpress page/post.

I love EVP but my only beef with EVP 2 is that your videos are watermarked/branded with Easy Video Player logo which is bogus IMO for a paid software. At least give me the choice.

You have to pay more money to get the "commercial license" to be able to remove the Easy Video Player watermark. I upgraded from EVP to EVP 2 for $77 so it wasn't free. And if you're new the price is $127 which is worth every penny but to remove the watermark you have to purchase the "commercial license" so that comes out to $204. So an extra $77 just to be able to remove the watermark. Since I don't have clients I just use it for my own business. That's my only complaint.

I'm curious about EVP 2.0. How do you compare it to the first version? It's got some pretty good upgrades but I don't know if it's worth it right now.

          I agree totally,

I must have missed the up sell for removing the
          water mark.

Paid software that has a watermark?

          Are you kidding me.

          What a piss off.

I just saw the water mark today and I certainly
don't want it on my pre-launch videos or any
          videos for that matter.

Makes me feel like refunding since I already
          have EZS3 anyway.

          Serious rip-off.

Water mark... Pay extra to remove it?

          Argggg....

Split testing videos isn't a revolutionary feature. I can easily setup google website optimizer on my OptimizePress blog and create two pages with videos. No "need" for EVP2 in order to do split tests.

OptimizePress has a built in video player, that supports mobile devices (iPads, iPhones etc), so setup two pages with different videos and split test.

I missed it too. I saw the "commercial license" option but it said it was for people who wanted to use EVP to create videos for clients yada, yada, yada, since I just use it for my own business I just took the regular version not realizing my videos were going to be watermarked.

I contacted support they said they'll be providing an upgrade link within the members area soon but for now it's watermarked. I'm working on 2 video courses right now and I don't want their logo on my video so I'll have to wait.

Hey Craig too :-) The watermark is embedded in the actual video so not sure how we could could photoshop it out from an actual video?

I got optimizepress and I love it.....I'm not all that familiar with EVP but I have EZs3 and you can add your ezs3 videos no problem in Optimize press....

I have been playing around learning and setting up for a launch that I am going to do with Optimizepress.....

Soon I am going to start exploring how to make it membership based...I am sure it is fairly simple in wordpress.....But not 100% on how to go about it....

but for the 97 buck OP was definitely worth it.....

Yea I'm liking OP more and more as I use it. For your membership site you can use one of the Wordpress membership site software programs. I use and like Digital Access Pass (DAP) but there are others out there like wish list.

I deleted the logo.png file and still showing up in the video - maybe it is cache? If I create a new video it won't be in it? Or does it get pulled in at the beginning one time and doesn't matter if the file exists after that?
