Anyone else having issues with Social Bookmarks Demon?
I bought Social Bookmarks Demon back in Feb 2010. I loved it for the first 6 months or so. It was almost fully automated and just kept running on my Linux box.
Then back in August I went to add some new accounts and found that I was getting license errors. This was version 2.1 (currently the latest version). However, if I used version 2.0 there was no license issue. Unfortunately a large number of the bookmarking sites in version 2.0 are dead so creating accounts using 2.0 and running 2.0 is of very limited benefit.
So I contacted support which had been very helpful and quick in the past. But this time I waited and waited and waited until I finally started creating multiple tickets. Eventually I accidentally added a new post to an old ticket and that pissed them off but also finally got their attention.
Support eventually said that it was a problem with my servers so I bought a paid monthly service from them. And it didn't work either - well posting did but new account creation did not. I let them know about this issue and they didn't believe me at first.
Then support told me back in late August that it was a problem with a lot of the bookmarking sites going dead. And a new version would be coming out in 1-2 weeks. Well it's now late Oct and no new version is yet available that I know of and the paid service is still broken. I've asked them for an ETA on the new update a few times (starting about 4 weeks after I was told 1-2 weeks). I have yet to receive any response - not even a GO AWAY response.
Anyone had any problems with SBD? Has anyone else noticed that SBD's support went from pretty good to blackhole? Or have I just gotten unlucky...
