Which is the best VPS Hosting?

My blog has grown and the hostgator shared server is no longer enough for my blog. I am looking to go for VPS hosting. Hostgator has a nice package... but as far as I know they are No.1 in shared servers but I don't know much about their VPS services.

Just wondering what you warriors use for VPS hosting. Are there better plans in other companies?

Thanks!

I have a VPS with Beyond Hosting; OpenVZ VPS Hosting, Virtual Private Servers - Guaranteed Ram, Fast Disk IO - Beyond Hosting

Havnt had any issues with them, the support is speedy and fantastic! Need a new domain added? Just send a ticket to support and they will set it up for you.

If you do a lot of tracking such as PPC or PPV/CPV, they have special optimized VPS to run Prosper202.

Their prices are very reasonable as well.

I have also heard wonderfull things about LiquidWeb as well.

I have to agree with this. I have been using beyond hosting for about 4 months and they are great. Very fast support, no down time, can handle large volumes of traffic easily. Would reccomend to anyone.

Same as roger123, I use wiredtree.

I've been using their managed VPS for several years now without a problem.

Customer service and response times are excellent.

No one seems to recommend hostgator and many people say wiredtree is good.

One of my friend also runs his blog from wiredtree and he said "close your eyes and go with wiredtree".

    Looking for more inputs however.

Hostgator isn't the same company they were 4 years
ago. After constant and innumerable issues I left their
      VPS for Liquidweb.

Liquidweb is much faster, but it's not as user-friendly
IMHO and the support is often less than "heroic". I would
still rate HG support higher even though it's also not as
      outstanding as it once was.

I'm happy enough with LW I won't go through the hassle
of moving sites but I can't say I recommend them either.

Agreed. EIG ruined HostGator. We had two dedicated servers with them for years, then quite literally the damage they caused our business proved to be nearly insurmountable. Here's a list of hosting companies owned by EIG. Personally, I wouldn't use any of them.

    WiredTree.com is #1
It has the best support in the world, I had one of them helping me with a bug in my WP installation too. That's pretty amazing if you consider that 99.99% of hosting companies stop to support at system level....
They also have a very good connection with high speed on North America and Europe.

BTW they are more expensive than competitors.

Have a look at VPS.Net, they may have what you need but be warned, you do need technical skills or be able to finance their managed service or outsource it. (browse their forums for hired help).

Im looking to move away from hostgator vps because i am seeing the same problems that i experienced with their shared hosting.

May I know what are the problems that you came across with their shared hosting?

On the server side, vpswebserver uses two highly regarded data centers located in Chicago and Philadelphia which come with the highest amount of interconnectivity, redundancy and security imaginable plus they have 24/7/365 on-site data center technicians to ensure complete reliability. More specifically, VpsWebServer's spacious Chicago facility, which is also the home to many of its managed dedicated server and Virtual Private Server clients, has allowed the company to effectively and competitively scale its prices.

Just to let you know the OP was searching for VPS back in 2010.. its 2012 ..so better check before replying.

I'm a huge fan of Site5. I've had two VPS with them for a few years now. Not the cheapest, but their customer service is the fastest / most reliable I've ever experienced, an in my eyes that's worth a lot.

I have a dedicated server with Hostgator for almost 12 months, and they haven't put a foot wrong.

I had a reseller account with them before that for 4 years, but I outgrew that type of hosting

And if there is a problem, it's either fixed straight away, or in less than 15 minutes.

And if you ask any question I always have a response back within 10 minutes.

I don't ' penny pinch' when it comes to hosting, because without a solid reliable hosting platform, your business doesn't exist for long.

And for me Hostgator is it.

VPS stands for Virtual Private Hosting. Basically
you're not sharing a server with 100 others who can
be doing all manner of stupid crap that will reflect on
your assets. I have a handful of sites still on HG
shared hosting and Amazon SES won't allow me to
mail a list of 40 people because my site is in a
          "bad neighborhood".

VPS is a nice spot between shared hosting and a
dedicated server which few people need and tends
to require a higher level of expertise to keep healthy.

If by reseller account you're hoping to host more than
one site, that's not a problem depending on the service
you pay for. If you're wanting to actually resell then
          that probably varies.

After 14 years in the Web Hosting industry, I know exactly who are the 3, not only Best VPS and Dedicated servers providers in the world for the quality of their products, but equally for their EXCELLENT Support.

    Named:
    Wiredtree.com
    Servint.net
    LiquidWeb.com

I'm not surprised the three of them have been mentioned here several times.

You can go "eyes closed and head down" you will make no mistake.
