Sony Vegas 10 Upgrade

I currently use Vegas Pro 8.0 for my video projects and am considering whether or not to upgrade to the new Vegas 10 version just released. Anyone have any experience between the two versions to know if the added features are worth the price of the upgrade?

I have a week until the discounted upgrade price expires, so hopefully there are some opinions to be had out there.

Wow... seriously, there's no Vegas users in here to offer any input?

I have yet to upgrade to 10, but I'm absolutely in love with Vegas 9. The small resources the program uses are what attracted me to it originally, so hopefully 10 is just a light on the hardware aspects.

I shoot with a Canon HV30 and it edits my footage like a dream. Depending on your equipment and experience level you might have a different feel for the program. One thing I like about Vegas 9 is that you can author straight to a Blu-Ray Disc when needed. This is nice when I need to get a project out the door fast and onto some high def media.

I love Vegas and recommend it as the ONLY option for PC users. Naturally if you have the Mac do not hesitate to get Final Cut Express or the big boy, Final Cut Version.

I love Vegas but I wouldn't look pass Premiere Pro CS5. There've been a number of improvements, especially regarding stability, and PP CS5 is able to natively edit a variety of formats.

You also get "extras" like On Location, After Effects, Photoshop as well as other Creative Suite 5 applications. They all "talk" to each other very well.

If you're a student, or have one in the house, this is especially a great bargain.

First until I saw Jacobs' post, I was going to say rendering to mp4 was worth it. But if it is not working, I have to say "negative". CT

Appreciate the input! The only thing I had found outside of here so far about noticeable improvements were really only in regards to improved transitions and that it wasn't as prone to crashes as v.8 and particularly v.9 ... though in my version 8 i only rarely have crashing issues.. unless i tempt fate with too many other processes running.

Would also be curious to know if mp4 rendering is working or not?
