Best Saved Password Software?

I don't worry about it. You have a master password that controls everything. If you forget it you're screwed, you have to start over. I learned that the hard way.

You can setup LastPas to not auto-fill, even to have a pre-password to allow putting in your password so you can really lock it down if you want.

If it's just you using your computer it should be less of an issue. If you share your computer setup different accounts for other users where they don't have access to LasPas.

I use the free version LastPas. The only additional value I see to the paid version is that I could use it with my Android phone. But LastPas doesn't put limits to how many passwords you can store on their free version unlike Roboform so I've just stuck with the free version.

I paid for RoboForm but prefer LastPas and now just use them. But Roboform isn't bad either. Any of these two is a good solution for password management IMO.

You really need the upgrade though, but the free version has the same features except that you're limited to like, 15 passcards.

There are problems with passwords that even I had not considered, and one in particular is hacking software that reads your keystrokes. So when you type in a password, it catches it and can then use it to log into your account, whatever it might be.

With Roboform, the problem is eliminated because those software programs cannot read data that is input automatically as happens with Roboform.

I must admit, I'm still not comfortable keeping my bank password in Roboform, but there's probably no reason for concern, according to their promises of protection.

Another great feature with Roboform is that you can give IT a password, so no one can get into your Roboform passcards. Every time you open your browser afresh, you must enter that password to gain access to your passcards.

So there's a lot to be said for auto-fill features and Roboform.

You are likely to see other high regards for this program - try running a search in the forum for Roboform. There is a thread in there somewhere that includes such high praise.

The passcards are saved on your own system and you can back them up to anywhere you want in the event your computer crashes or something. You can print them out, too, which I like to do about once a year.

I love Roboform and so do many other professional IMers and WF members.

What's more, the upgrade is like, $39 for eternity with upgrades when the program is modified to defy new hacking methods and software and viruses, etc.

It's a very wise purchase indeed.
