LIST BUILDING TOOLS - what do YOU use?

I am doing a bit of market research ... What list building tools do YOU use?

From squeeze pages to drop-ins and slide-ins to exit scripts ... what do you use?

If you can include a brand name or link that would be appreciated.

    I've started to use something real new.

    It software that lets you put and mini-squeeze pages directly into ANY PDF documents, e-book, or report.

    It's called: Viral PDF Master

      Thanks for that Glenn. I did some checking up on it (Viral PDF Master), unfortunately its not a very popular tool, doesn't seem to be attracting any real interest, so it's difficult to get any real insight to the product.

      I guess its a low key tool, given that you have to get the user to take several actions until you get them to subscribe.

    I'm actually using Facebook Fan Pages lately for list building. A lot of people don't really know that there is an email option in your "marketing tab" of your fan page. Very powerful. Also if you use facebook ads to promote your fan page you can do really well.

    I was using Aweber before but with the amount of opt-ins you are paying a hefty monthly fee to just send a message to your list. To give you an example, between 10,000 and 25,000 people in your list, you pay $130 a month. With facebook you can have unlimited people in your fan page, you are still able to send them a message which will end up in there email and FB inbox and you can easily grow your list with all the viral options for free. I think the way to go!

    I can't reply to PM's yet (my post count). They actually use it on their site. If you try to leave the site you will see it activate. They use a hidden iFrame to track your mouse. When it moves outside the browser window it activated whatever peel-aways or pop-ups you've specified in their script.

    Go check it out.

      Thanks again. Yes I could see that, and the iframe etc. is the way we develop several of our tools at bz9.com. We already have 2 exit pop ups available at bz9 and we will add a version of this exit pop up to bz9 as well.

        That Viral PDF Master software looks incredible! I like the idea of giving away free reports without the opt-in...but then allowing people to opt-in that want more info from me.

        I have a 40,000+ Aweber opt-in list from a free report I created...but my guess is that 75% aren't interested in receiving my followup emails. It cost A BIG monthly fee to have this many people in AWEBER.

        Anyway...this will help narrow my list down to interested prospects.

          Hi Rusty, don't act too hastily. By the sounds of it your list building has been successful, but all lists will only have a certain % conversion rate.

          If aweber is costing you too much, why not put a mailing script on your server and use that as the main optin, that way it costs you nothing as you are already paying your server costs.

          Then if you still want to use pdf system add the aweber optin to that so you ger a more targeted list.

          But to move away from what you are already going sounds mad if you are building a strong list albeit perhaps not as targeted as you want.

              You can use any script, just do a search on Google. I have about instalations of this script ListMailPRO | Email list marketing software. Send text and HTML email. Pro features. No limits. but I bought it several years agao before he made it free, so not sure what he has done to replace payment, probably branded the out going emails.

              If you want a cheaper option than aweber we have an autoresponder as part of the service at bz9.com - use any of the links in my signature to access and take a look.
