Flippa Front Page Upgrades?

I currently have an auction going that is not getting enough views to make me happy. Since Flippa doesn't guarantee how long you stay on the front page if you pay for an upgrade, I wondered whether people have had success with this. Is it worth it?

As you point out, it will roll off the front page, however if it's an 'exceptional' auction, that will certainly get attention.

You might want to double-check; when you buy that option, it gets placed based on when the auction began. If the auction is already running, and you 'upgrade', I don't know if you'll get the full benefit or whether it will still be placed based on the start date.

I do it every time. For every site. Some sites I might feature multiple times (3-5) if they are going for XX,XXX. If I were to give one tip to selling on Flippa this would be #1

You get a LOT more exposure than without it and it's great to get an auction kick started with bidders. It can get quite expensive, but you'll make your investment back (with interest) 99% of the time especially if the site has some history of traffic/revenue.

Is there a best time of day or week to do this?

Personally I always run 'short' auctions, mostly 5 days. I try to make sure they straddle a weekend, so I'll usually launch them either Thurs. or Fri., to expire Mon. or Tues.

Invariably, there is 'end of auction' bidding that pushes the time back.

Monday and Tuesday isn't a good day as people tend to be back at work. I can't say I've noticed a big difference day wise, but regarding time: 5-8pm EST seem to have worked well for me over the last year or so.

I have and old website with high traffic, high conversions, and steady sales that I'm trying to sell on Flippa....

It's my first time using the site. (It's my first time ever attempting to sell a website.)

I didn't use any upgrade options...

I set it up as a 3 day listing that started on Saturday and ended this morning.

I only received 120 listing views and I have 5 people watching the listing, and I have received only 2 bids....

Is this not enough? How many listing views should I aim for, if I want to maximize the likelihood of selling the site.

I have a buy it now / reserve price in the 4-figure range.

I guess that making it a front page listing with all of the prominent features really does make a difference...?

If you can't negotiate an acceptable deal with the high bidder then I would suggest you relist, maybe as a 4 or 5 day. As soon as you have a bid or two go for the front page upgrade. If you don't have a bid in two days then still perhaps go for the upgrade. I sell much lower priced sites so it is a harder choice but I can't imagine not doing it with a site worth over $1000.
