Fatcow.com- has anyone used this webhost before?

Hi warrior,
Someone just told me about this host that has been in business since 1998 and I wonder if any marketer here has ever used them before.
Are they horrific or they have excellent customer care? Are they dependable? In short, are they a marketer's/multiple blog owner's choice? Thanks

I webmastered for a client that was using Fatcow and I hated it. I wasn't thrilled with support, didn't like their user interface, they have some strange e-mail policies. I moved the client to my Hostgator reseller account as soon as their paid 12 months was up.

So horrible, but I still believe other people will have more opinions about this service. Let hear what they wanna say about it. Personally, i'd love to keep an open mind and see other possibilities.

Second-hand information only, here, but actually a couple of friends of mine from another forum recommend them, really highly - and one is a real internet marketing expert whose opinion means a great deal to me, and she thinks their customer care's excellent.

I'm with Hostgator, myself, and very happy there ... but if I wanted to change, from what I've heard FatCow would be really high on my list of alternative hosts to look at.

The name, admittedly, seems rather unfortunate.

So does that mean they run windows servers?

Seriously, though, if they do, that would be enough grounds to go with a host who runs linux.

If they are on windows, that'll be a big NO NO NO. I was forced to sell my site on windows because I couldn't get around using it. Linux rocks especially with a Wordpress blog and I admit it! Bye-Bye to windows hosting forever! Except if there'll be I'll need that's not available on Linux in the course of my internet empire building process.

I'm also with hostgator but I'm just looking for alternative good host should I need them. All I've got here is second hand information, I'm yet to hear anyone who use it really recommend it.

They use linux servers. Their script barn includes WordPress, phpBB, Joomla, CGI, PHP, Python, Perl, Ruby, MySQL, etc and they also have real SSL shopping carts. Very newbie friendly, not sure if they provide hosting in Nigeria, though.

Not sure what you mean about not accepting hosting in Nigeria though. I thought it's a global company:-)!

Fatcow has a real bad customer support. You will have to wait for days to get a rely from them.. I suggest you to go with Hostgator..

Ok, I realise that comment is ten months old, but I was using FatCow then and still use them today. They actually have live support, and personally I have found it to be excellent.. Have used it many times without a single hitch.

Once, when they couldn't answer my question immediately, they asked if I would prefer to receive an email instead of waiting. The email came through in the time that it took me to log in.

So as far as their support goes (based on my experience) I could not be happier
