Best Places To Advertise Free Tools?

We have been selected by our supplier to work with them hand in hand in their new project, which is to give away the unlimitd video emailing and unlimited bandwidth for free.

The goal is 1,000,000 users in 90 days.

They will be doing heavy advertising, but we will be engaging as well.

Where are the best places to get the word out?

What works for free tools like this?

Yes, there is money to be made. There is a generous affiliate program and a state of the art web conferencing tool that is dirt cheap.

    Look at where/who would be interested.

    Tech Support and Entrepreneur sites, blogs, forums. Especially the small business folks.

    Take a close look at Crossloop.com and see if you could work out something with them, as your tool might be an enhancement and work well together. It's remote access software, and IT folks can make money offering support in their marketplace.

    I think these types of forums are great places to get the word out and then using facebook & twitter would probably help quite a bit as well. Also, if it's a great product then it doesn't take very long for the word of mouth to start going. I mean when I find a great tool I'm always telling my internet marketing buddies about it and they generally end up getting it, I imagine a large portion of the rest of the internet marketing community is the same way as well.

    That's why our Sales guy is always harping on getting people to come out and play with us on the live demos. He has like a 90% conversion rate. When you get to see it in action and play with it live you get hooked.

    It's just getting the word out. It's one of those too good to be true things. People have been so jaded because of the bad things out there or similiar vehicles charging $100 a month that they simply can't believe the good news when they hear it. But seeing is believing for most folks so when they see it themselves they get it.

    So for me I see it as a combo deal; I need to get the word out and convince people to at least come and check it out and play with it for to see for themselves. And now that our supplier is giving it away, it's just letting people know, hey, we aren't kidding!
