A) Is PPC worth taking the time to learn for a Beginner??

B) I would appreciate different opinions that you believe is the best --method-- course-- program or software to help learn PPC advertising.

C) I learn best with "Step by Step Screen Shots"-- Next is Video !!

I would appreciate and I'm looking forward to your comments and help!!!

Thank You ----Debra

You do not have to spend a fortune on PPC to get started or learn the process but a good guide would be worth getting. There are free ones out there... for paid ones I'd recommend Beating Adwords.

Hi Debra

Google PPC changes the angles so often that any training materials you do look at you really have to ensure theyre well up to date first.
So id suggest going to google adwords first , checking their 'help' files out so at least you know the present situation there then you can see if the training available is up to date or not.

Its not difficult tho to get started on the cheap, make your ads relevent to the landing page, use the chosen keyword for that particular ad in each line of the ad if possible,
use the ? in the url of the site on the ad and then put your keyword in after the ? ( the ? makes anything put in after that totally irrelevent to Google ie the search function wont notice it)
set your ppc rate at the lowest you can to still get top 10 placing
set daily budget to highest you are happy to pay (if its high its unlikely it will be reached anyway but it will allow Google to show your ad more)
after three days or so check your stats, delete your non performing keywords in each ad campaign and this will in turn increase your calculated click thru rate which then leads Google to reducing your cost per click charges.

Hi Debra,

I'd suggest Google Nemesis (www.freetoolsandtips.com/nemesis) but, I suggest only getting it for a month. (it's a monthly service).

Second is commission blueprint. Equally good, but a little more technical. You can see it at www.freetoolsandtips.com/cb

If I might make a recommendation - Rather than purchasing Google Nemesis for a month, I'd suggest you just purchase a keyword tracking program like Xtreme Conversions (no affiliate link - I'm so thoughtful ). Nemesis is too expensive (especially since it has a monthly fee) and its html editor is very, very limited. Better off with Xtreme Conversions and building your own sites.

You could also start keyword tracking for free, and then later upgrade to a paid service. I made a video on how to set up keyword tracking - I realize that you're new to the whole PPC game, so definitely pick up some "theory," but before you go "live," make sure you get the keyword tracking thing down - you'll never get PPC profitable without it.

Oh, and I didn't know it'd just put the video right in here - that's pretty cool. Anyway, the video's made for YouTube's new resolution, so if you have trouble seeing anything, just click it and go to YT and try to watch it there. And no idea why it just ends where it does . . . I didn't bother remaking it since all of the real content was captured - only thing it's missing is where I tell people to check out my blog. lol

You're welcome. Again, anywhere you can pick up an overview of PPC would be good. I was a member of Wealthy Affiliate at the time and just used their PPC stuff to kind of learn the basics. But really, anywhere would be fine.

Someone mentioned Commission Blueprint - I was sent a review copy when it was released, and if you've got the extra money, it'd definitely put you well on your way. The only downside is that it isn't for the complete PPC newbie - like they assume you know how to set up an AdWords campaign and so on.

There are some more advanced topics that it lacks, but that's been the case with every PPC guide I've ever reviewed. I have a guide on advanced PPC techniques that I sell - Do have a WSO, if you're interested (NEW: PPC Strategies and Tactics "They" don't Want You to Know).

No worries, not just a shameless plug. In fact, I wouldn't recommend that you purchase my guide right now. Or if you do, then file it away until you learn the basics. My guide is priced the way it is because I make the assumption that anyone purchasing it is truly looking for advanced techniques, and already has a solid foundation of how to run a PPC campaign, but just needs the stuff to really take them to the next level.

Anyway, definitely find somewhere to pick up the basics. I think it was Dave who recommended Beating AdWords - probably not a bad idea. I never read it, but I know how K&C think (and I did study their PPC info on WA once upon a time), so that would definitely get you on your way. Once you get your feet a little wet, feel free to check out my PPC guide, or ask any questions.
