I have tried to sign up to test it out but it keeps saying I already have an account. I have tried 3 different email addresses. I had never even heard about this site until earlier today. Even though I can't register I would also like to hear what people say about it.

I was interested in them as well, given that they're freee and don't look to require a significant time investment. From what I can gather though, SocialMonkee works primarily with backlinks from forum profiles. While they probably won't hurt, in light of Google's latest announcement it's probably going to not give any where near the gains in the future that we've come to expect from such links.

Hi Janice,

We allow 1 account per IP Address, did you signup with an account in the last couple of days? If so that would explain the error.

The links come from social bookmarking sites that we own and control, not forums. We purchased 100 domains and installed 100 social bookmarking sites on 1 unique ips, all c-class unique, most of them at the moment are even A and B class unique on servers around the world!

We also make all links submitted 'do-follow' backlinks - It is also very fast and Free

BTW - This is BRAND NEW, I just sent 1 email about it last week, so we are still improving it as much as we can, so if you have ANY feedback or suggestions at all, please write them here and I will see what I can do

Thanks

Hi Colin,

Just signed up and gave it a try. Simple and easy to do.
I do believe you may have something here.

I did have one concern after trying it and then I noticed the question
had been asked on your site, but not answered yet.

So I thought I'd ask over here.

If I want to use a url to other pages on my site, it appears that your
program does not allow dashes/hyphens.

At least it wouldn't accept it in the title.

Will it allow hyphens in the url's?

cheers,
Jerry

It's very , very simple to use...,also they offer an amazing firefox plugin to bookmark.
For a free account they offer 25 bookmarks/day but not offer details where, and for premium(47$) 100bookmarks/3times day with full report. Also the premium account can be maked without paying money just to reffer 12 persons.

Thanks for kind review Danoctav,

Jerry, It is not allowed in titles but is allowed in your URLS. You should not from an SEO side be using - etc. in your keywords that are hyperlinked to your site.

So urls it is fine to have the - but titles it doesnt work with them, no

Hi Canga,

I'm not 100% sure of what you mean but if you're asking how you get refer other people yes you can share your affiliate link with your colleagues and friends, and/or sign up to the list builders we recommend on the 'Promo Tools' page.

I hope this helps!

If you have any questions, feel free to ask them here. Alternatively you can submit a ticket to our help desk!

PR hasn't been updated in close to a year and many now feel Google discounts or doesn't use PR anymore. some of the sites are established with a lot of backlinks and a good alexa, others are new and are being promoted by my team as we speak...

I bought some established ones and set other ones up months ago etc.

There are after all 100 sites We are also planning on adding more as we go.

On the site I saw someone mentioned that they tried to enter the same URL on different days and it said this was not permitted. Just wondering if there is a way for SocialMonkee to keep submitting the same URL (25/day) until it is on all the social sites you have? Or if it would recognize the URL and just submit to the social sites it didn't in previous submissions?

Hope that question wasn't confusing....

Hi Sarah,

No, right now you can't submit the exact same URL more than once. However you can submit different URLs from the same domain. For example you can submit warriorforum.com only once, but you can then submit warriorforum.com/home (once), warriorforum.com/products (once), warriorforum.com/blog (once), etc.

The only way to make sure a URL is submitted to the 100 sites is to upgrade to the Premium level, and submit the URL. Remember that you don't necessarily have to pay the one-time fee to get your account upgraded. Yoy can get a FREE Premium upgrade by referring 12 people to SocialMonkee.

If you already submitted the main URL you want to promote to 25 sites (with a Free account), I'm pretty sure you can find a way to tweak that URL and submit to 100 sites again (with a Premium account): ...com/ ...com/home.php ...com/home.htm etc.

I hope this helps! If not feel free to send me a PM.

We could allow the same url to be submitted more than once, but then people would submit them every day, so the same url's 300 times in a year.

The search engines will see this as spam and block our sites, then everyone loses. The idea here is to get inbound, do follow links to help your traffic ranking. (Help Make your sites rank for the terms you want)

So once you have the inbound link, if you are premium, you get an RSS feed and a video showing how to let the search engines know about, and index those backlinks.

Getting 2nd, 3rd etc. links from the same domains on the same ips carry very little weight compared to the 1st one. So once you have the link and it is indexed, you dont need to get another one from those sites Hope this helps and thanks for the support...

Any improvement Ideas please let us know, we are keen to make this awesome for everyone!

Sounds great but the key here does your site get index or not depends also on heaps of other factor right? Even when submitted.

Yes, the domains are indexed and there are many pages indexed, but the search engines need to index the pages that are created when you run the software. Running the software will create new pages for you. These then need to get picked up by the search engines.

Often they will get picked up over a few weeks naturally because they are linked to on the homepage of the site.

As a premium member we give you the direct links and we also give you an RSS for your project that you can then ping to let the Search Engines know about them - This will speed up the process

Hi Ray, if you installed it, you will see a little Monkee face in the bottom right, click on his head and it will ask you to login and you will be all a go... Please let me know if you still have problems...

I just heard about this today, so please allow me to make sure I understand everything.

There are 100 domains, and each page can get one backlink on each domain. So to get value in this you need to have a lot of pages. If you have 3 mini sites with just one page then you would use up the value on the first day, right? (I know a person needs to keep creating pages, but I just used that example to make sure I understand it right.)

To get the real value you need to have the report so that you can ping the RSS reports. If you only have the free 25 daily links the search engines may or may not see them. Right?

Someone above mentioned above that this is something that Google won't like. What are the odds that using this service would have the opposite effect and actually have us get slapped by Google?

Thanks!

John

Hi John, in point 1, you are correct. If we allowed the same sites multiple times the SERPS will block our sites as spam.... So it is 1 at a time

Your 2nd point, we might make reports open to free members in future (But not RSS though) - having said that, I feel the search engines will eventually find and index as we list new listings on the homepages of sites. Might take a few weeks though, but still a free membership provides lots of value.

Your 3rd point, someone PM'd me about that comment. It is not true at all, or else why not get link farms and spam sites to link to your competitors to get them off the serps?

They might penalize links YOU link to from your money/main site, but will NOT penalize your site for getting inbound links from other sources

Hi Colin

You said:
"...The links come from social bookmarking sites that we own and control, not forums. We purchased 100 domains and installed 100 social bookmarking sites on 1 unique ips, all c-class unique, most of them at the moment are even A and B class unique on servers around the world!

We also make all links submitted 'do-follow' backlinks - It is also very fast and Free..."

So these social bookmarking sites that you own are things like "Colin's social bookmarking site #1" and "Colin's social bookmarking site #2"not a twitter account, correct?

Hi Almanack,

Yes, all 100 sites are on unique C-Class IP addresses and domains. There are no Twitter accounts, Digg accounts... All sites are the property of Colin.

If you join SocialMonkee make sure you download and read the user guide (PDF). There's a link to it on the dashboard inside the members area.

Thanks

Hi great to have you with us, thanks for the support.

There shouldn't be a delay, were these 3 submitted as a premium member? If so, could you please try submitting one of them that doesnt show again, and see what the result is.

If this is still an issue tomorrow, after retrying, please let me know (My helpdesk is Colin Klinkert Help Desk: Reply2Colin.com )

Where does it social bookmark to? It's not stated anywhere. I don't want to submit duplicates with other services.

Hi

I've been using it for a couple of days I love the concept and it is super easy to use.

It's certainly worth getting an upgrade I'm at 7 referrals just a few to go, so I've be promoting it by blog post, twitter, etc

Looking forward to seeing some results

Thanks
Lynne

I just signed up and thinking of upgrading. Curious if anyone who started using this a couple of weeks ago has seen results in traffic or rankings increase?

Great! I wanted a bit more info to see if this was legit, come on over to Warrior do a search and bam! I find this thread. Very much considering premium membership as I love the simplicity. My only concern is does this actually help with ranking and/or does it hinder it in any way. It appears you guys have captured the issue of duplicate submissions....but what if a duplicate link comes in from multiple sources, would that work kind of like twitter or digg by counting how many times its been bookmarked?
Thanks!

We launched in beta 15 days ago, so its still very new, I can tell you links I have submitted have got backlinks from many of the sites. My programmer did some testing with his domain too and Yahoo shows the backlinks to his sites

JeromyS - IF someone else bookmarks it will add another count, like with Digg. It can't hinder your ranking, it can only help

I've not read the posts in this thread I'm afraid, but just popping by to say I think this thing is really good. Plugin is very easy to use, and if Social Monkee does what it says it does, then it really is a fantastic service!

One thing though - When using the plugin, it'd be cool if it could do a mini spin of the description 3 times? Maybe same with keywords?

Thanks!

Just signed up today!

You know what they say.... "Backlinks is Backlinks!"

Seriously, looks like just one more weapon to use for getting sites indexed and moved up in the serps. I'd imagine this could be a real handy tool for folks doing offline marketing.

Thanks Colin

Scott

Hi Joe, Thanks for the review - The descriptions and keywords are too short to auto spin, but if you fill all the boxes, it will manual spin, with 9 combos, it gives a fair bit of uniqueness.

We will keep looking for ways to make it even better though

Hi Scott,

If it keeps growing, our plan is to get even more IPs and more sites (Maybe even buy some more established ones, which is not cheap but will enable us to keep growing)

Thanks for the kind words

As both my myself and site are fairly new to this business and since my site only has about 40 pages, with an upgraded membership I'll have submitted all my pages in about two weeks.

Could I then submit url's to article directories that I have articles posted on?

Is there a benefit?

Still trying to figure out the benefit to upgrading??

cheers,

Yes there is great benefit in getting your articles to rank well, as people click the sig link and this results in more traffic. You can bookmark your article sites, Youtube videos etc. Would love to have you as a premium member.

Hey Colin,

Normally I wouldn't come over to a thread and post about another thread, but since there both yours............

On your Social Bookmarking thread I see that you've not been over there to answer any questions for a couple of months, is that program/service still alive?

cheers,
