Just wondering if anyone has built a website with them
and whether they are reputable. The company advertises a lot
on tv.

Just seen it on TV but I think it is great for people with regular business like doctors etc

I think they own Homestead? Or they used to be Homestead? Or they bought or merged with the company that used to be Homestead, or something very like this?

There are very mixed reports around about their customer service. I did once look at them and do some research, thinking of trying it, and found a lot of very off-putting things, and decided not to, myself.

That was about a year ago, and things may be better now, though?

Yeah I promote them right now (just starting)

I actually used them myself when I started looking for something that was easy to use, because I am awful at building sites!

Alexa is right these days intuit and homestead are essentially one and the same. I think intuit bought homestead.

Their sitebuilder worked nicely, the only thing I didn't like about it (trying to recall?) was that if you used html code for (example) a banner ad, you couldn't see the banner unless you were viewing a preview or published, in other words if you were in "editing" mode you would see an indication that "html script" was being used at whatever location on the page, as it would show an icon to let you know the script was there, but when I'm "building" I like to see "which banner is where", I want to see what everything looks like when I'm in the "assemble" mode...

    Their CS wasn't bad

it certainly is a drag and drop type of technology, so that is really nice
and they had tons of templates, and the price wasn't bad ..they do hosting too

I was making some stuff pretty easily and it didn't look bad at all....
matter of fact that is what my current blog is centered around and that's homestead
I would say overall I was impressed, or I probably would risk creating my site around it

    my 2 cents!

Not sure about Intuit, but I saw a sweet looking Weebly: Weebly - Create a free website and a free blog site the other day. The two programs look similar in the way they drag and drop...

I like Weebly very much and have even made some simple sites there myself (if you only know how incompetent I am with that sort of thing, that's actually high praise for them!), and I think it's underrated. I may be biased against Homestead/Intuit on the basis of slightly out-of-date, second-hand information.

"Customer Service" is always a huge issue to me, with anything, because I rely on it more than anyone else does.
