I was doing some research on plugins for analytic programs because a recent great plugin that I use for Wordpress just seemed to be under reporting.

I stumbled across woopra.com and it is great and appears better than google analytics and I like the features and live tracking and it works great for me and can be used in WP other CMS's and such.

Is anyone else using this tool and have they ran into any difficulties?

It looks like Woopra is a downloaded program? I like to keep services hosted, less to keep track of and all. I admit this is a plug, but I use W3Counter on my WordPress sites, it's also live tracking and also has a WordPress plugin that can add the tracking code and adds stats to your WP dashboard.

I signed up for the beta and downloaded the software but it would not work. They also have the option of viewing online, but I don't think it has all the features and stats of the desktop version.

I noticed it was free too! have you had any issues with W3Counter?

Thanks for mentioning it. May also check it out.

In the interest of full disclosure, shouldn't you mention that W3Counter is one of the properties of Awio Web Services, which, as stated in your sig file, you run? I know you said "this is a plug," but you should probably be more explicit in explaining why. I've seen W3Counter around, and for all I know, it could be a good analytics solution.

Woopra.com has two sides to it. The tracking side is still hosted, as W3Counter is, but it has a desktop client available for download which lets users keep track of their sites without having to muddle through a web-based interface.

EDIT: I did think it was cheesy that you can pop a chat window up to talk to live users viewing your site. Maybe someone could explain where that is at all useful.

I saw this, it looks really nice. They have to approve every URL. I have requested this over two weeks ago with no reply. I think it may still be in a closed beta.

All I can say is that Woopra kicks total azz!

It is free now because it is in Beta. I will certainly pay for it when it goes live, even with all the free ones out there. That's how good it is.

It is a hosted program...the download is just to use their desktop interface which is awesome.

          5 stars!

I've heard it's awesome from the track and
            test king himself, David Bullock.

I submitted my info at least a month ago and
            haven't heard from them, however.

It took about 2 months for me to get accepted...but they accepted 4 different websites at the same time.

I have been watching this damn desktop application for days now...ever since I got it. LOL

It's worth the wait/ All you have to do when you get accepted is paste the code on your pages and then install the desktop app.

All data is stored on THEIR servers.
