alll in one seo plugin

How does it help? yes it helps optimize your site for search engines but i mean for rankings? Im currently trying to optimize for low competitive keywords, i guess this plugin will still not make you top 10 as you need to work on on and off page seo right? Im trying to optimize some posts ive made so at the bottom of the posts, there is this plugin and im trying to put in the keywords, title, meta tags...etc.

I think the new golden standard is wordpress seo by yoast. I've been hearing that from a lot of the know it alls :P
