I believe windows 7 has a built in voice to text software, do you know whether this is significantly better?

I tried the speech to text in win7 for a while. I really wanted to like it, since I didn't want to pay for DNS, but for me it was awful. Dragon was way better for me out of the box. By spending a little time training I've been able to consistently get 90+ percent accuracy. Maybe I just slur and have a funny accent so YMMV. |

For no rebate, that is a decent deal. You can often times find this for closer to $30-$40, but with a mail in rebate. (And I always forget to send them in). Dragon N- S- is much better than what is built in to Windows. |

Hello Greg, Some of the things that I have learned about using Dragon Naturally Speaking-11 Is that the faster you talk, the better DNS works. Most folks that are real good typists operate at 60-words per minute up to 100+ words per minute. By speaking at 200-words per minute or sometimes even higher ... You can increase your efficiency. There is also something to be said for giving your hands in your fingers a rest. People that type all day will sometimes suffer from Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, arthritis or some type of handicap that makes it difficult to use their hands or fingers. My hands and fingers work okay, but I wouldn't be without it as it really helps me in my Internet marketing assorted computer duties. I am not as tired at the end of the day ... Plus can work easily for longer periods of time. It's like having the use of a new car ... For many years without putting a lot of miles or stress on it. All of the Best.. Ron |

Thanks, energytimes! I don't have five posts yet, so I have to thank you the old-fashioned way. I've been meaning to pick up a copy of this. The sale goes on until March 19th. |
