AutoBlog BluePrint & Google: Death to AutoBlogging?!

I came across this post http://googleblog.blogspot.com/2011/...gine-spam.html that seems to say, in effect, that Google is going after "content farms" and will be de-indexing them.

An excerpt:

"... sites that copy others' content and sites with low levels of original content. We'll continue to explore ways to reduce spam, including new ways for users to give more explicit feedback about spammy and low-quality sites.".

In fact, they're apparently adding an extension to Chrome to facilitate feedback from users who want auto-blogged content-farm sites banned, per this post, Official Google Blog: New Chrome extension: block sites from Google's web search results.

It seems like the days of these so-called "content farms", created by autoblogging (right?), might be numbered.

1) What's your "take" on this?

2) Would you agree: it doesn't make much sense to start building auto-blogging sites now - given how much work it seems to take to set it up right .. per strategies like Mike Johnson's ABBP?

3) Do you think following a well-reviewed strategy such as the AutoBlog BluePrint might void Google's death ray? (I emailed Mike Johnson about this but no reply .. sure he's busy.)

Thanks!

Richard
