I'm sure if any of you are having this problem... My Mozilla Firefox browser just keeps on freezing when I'm working and killing my productivity and wasting my time always having to restart my computer just to close out of it....and when it loads it works for a minute than freeze up again! This is really getting aggravating annoying frustrating and all the above. This has been going on a week now. MF used to work great, but just recently it's been acting like this. And yes, I've updated to the latest version and even have all my add-ons disabled right now but it's still causing a major headache. Right now, I'm using Internet Explorer but there a lot of IM tools not compatibility with IE as I know a lot of IMer use MF... What about Chrome? Haven't used that much...the only thing I don't like is that there are no Menu Bar, etc. |

I mostly use SeaMonkey - based on the same Mozilla code as Firefox, so it's similar in many ways, but less bloated. Chrome is fast, but invasive to your system and difficult to completely remove. |

I use Chrome. Why? Because its freaking fast. It's honestly changed the my surfing habits as well. It's just that easy to use. Sometimes I'll accidentally open up IE or FF at work and its terrifying how long it takes those two browsers to load. Simply put, you can't go wrong with Chrome. It's badass for sure! |

I gave up on Firefox at the beginning of this year. A lot of developers have already created plugins that work with Chrome. The trade off? It's Google, and they'll know everything you do. If you're a white hatter this shouldn't be a problem. Chrome much 20x faster and smoother than Firefox. I several things about FF but once I got over that part of it, it's a trade up.

Definitely with the crowd on the "use Chrome" sentiment. I use my Firefox for a few SEO addons and university referencing, but aside from that 100% of my browsing is Chrome. SO FAST. |

Have a look at this tutorial, it makes your firefox 3x time faster, maybe it fixes your problem: Make Firefox Faster | ForeverGeek, also you might think of upgrading your firefox or reinstalling. I dont suggest any other browsers because firefix is the best.

Chrome is definitely a good browser to use. I use it all the time. Also, what do you mean by no menu bar? I've had no complaints with Chrome, it has only froze on me once out of the entire time I've used it. And Chrome is getting more and more popular, so I think that more olivine will or are available for Chrome. |

| FF is a complete joke now. It used to be the only browser I used, but lately it constantly crashes(even on my phone it does), it freezes up a lot, and a lot of times when it closes, it will not reopen my tabs. Pretty much agree with everyone about Chrome. It has come a long way and is very much fast in every way. |

I switched over to Chrome a few days ago - I'd been using Firefox for years and thought I'd never switch. Chrome is doing pretty well so far and I'm 75% sure I'm going to stick with it. Getting used to how they handle downloads is irritating me but apart from that it's doing well! Chrome gives a tiny few millimetres more space at the top as well! I'm always using small travel style laptops so those millimetres matter! Today I accidentally clicked the Firefox icon out of habit, and didn't realise I was using it for about 30 mins! So similar. |

I also deleted my entire history, which actually did the trick. It finally stopped freezing up. I used to always just clear the cache, but never thought about deleting the history...plus with this advice my FF is up to speed again...hopefully it will last | |
