A bit of help please. As a newbie, I have heard from some sources that I need a reseller account, but then from others I only need a "Baby" account. Which one do I need ? or is there a different account for different reasons? Reply by PM or post is fine. |

If you need more control over each domain's hosting, or you plan on reselling hosting services to recoup some of your costs, you'll obviously need the reseller plan. If you don't have solid plans yet, and you just need to get something up, go with a Baby. You can always upgrade later.

I've been with Bluehost for 3 years now and they are one of the best in the biz. You'll find them on any top ten list with great reviews. You can't go wrong with them plus you get a free domain name when you sign up. You don't need a reseller account unless you plan on reselling hosting. |

Get a shared account which allows unlimited sites (Hostgator as pointed out) Being a reseller would mean you could sell hosting accounts under your own name, which i don't think you aim to do? Hope it helps, -B

A reseller account allows you to have a separate control panel for each site. In a shared account all sites share one control panel. I prefer to use reseller accounts for my sites. Andrew |

I use a reseller account for 2 reasons:
If you aren't planning on doing #1 and don't need #2, then just go with the "Baby" plan. As was said, you can always upgrade laterl And just ignore those guys that didn't answer your question but are trying talk you into somebody other than Hostgator. They just want to make a commission off you. |

I use Hostgator. With baby plan you can still have a lot of websites, unlimited hosted on that account. Reseller plan is for example, one day you decide to sell one of your sites to somebody else, they would need their own control panel to manage the site. |

For the best in uptime and support I'd personally recommend LiquidWeb by a country mile. Great for small to medium websites. |

I've used DreamHost for many, many years. I get unlimited bandwidth, disk space, domain hosting (all in their own space not sub or add on domains), in fact it's like a reseller account, all for under $120 a year. It's worth noting though: they don't use cPanel, they have their own user interface which I prefer and find more user friendly than cPanel.

I am having a similar issue too, I am having 10 adsense microniche sites created, and need hosting for these, the issue being, I do not want to buy 10 hosting accounts for each one, but would prefer to have them all in one hosting account, this way all of the microniche sites are together, and I can save alot more on hosting too, what type of hosting do I need to make this happen, I do not want sub domains, but actual domains for each of these sites, but it doesnt bother me if I dont have cpanel for them all really, as long as they are all online and getting ranked. Let me know please.

| Hostgator is simply one of the best if not the best web hosting companies in the world. The best part about it is that they offer huge discounts on their unlimited web hosting plans. Just use a coupon code to save more money. The answer is within you. |

It all depends on your needs like everyone states, but it also depends on the project, hostgator is fine for all your basic needs, as are countless others. But if you need a little more or everything, I have never been disappointed with rackspace for my more serious properties (running online apps, communities and with traffic in 1,000,000 plus per month on average) |

I like Fatcow Hosting it's cheap and Green~ You can use the little Powered by Wind Energy logo's and Green Friendly web logo's this is great for my Niche's~ (I embed my affiliate links in them btw) I switched in November and I have started transitioning from GoDaddy to them. So far I'm very, very happy with them. Yet, now that I read this thread I'm going to look into HostGator just to see what the have to offer. Does anyone here know the name of the domain company that has free private registration for Domains? |

If you are starting out, both hostgator and bluehost are my fav. Probably you won't be needing this, but I want to share perhaps someone else need it. Blue host : 1 price only US$ 9.95/month (it's on 30% discount now for 6.95) unlimited domain hosting unlimited Hosting space unlimited bandwidth / file transfer unlimited email accounts Free domain Free site builder What they don't tell you 750 mail / hour limit - You'll be expecting this, the higher the better if you are considering to install your own autoresponder script 20 max process at the same time The nearest offer hostgator has with the one bluehost is offering, is : Baby Plan Regular price $9.95/month (promo : you can get US$9.94 off or you can get 25% off the price) - Be carefull if you are using 25% off option, DO NOT pay monthly... as you will only get 25% off for the first month and pay a full price for the following month. I Did This, and now I have to bear with the full price hosting. At least choose the 1 year plan. unlimited domain hosting unlimited Hosting space unlimited bandwidth / file transfer unlimited email accounts Free domain Free site builder What they don't tell you 500 mail / hour limit 25 max process at the same time Just my 2 cents |

Hostgator all the way! Excellent on site resources and second to none support. Regarding wp0102's post above and Bluehost; another excellent provider but you pay 12 months up front for your hosting whereas HG is monthly. Good luck, Michael |

![]() but the hostgator people tells me that the coupons ( $9.94 off or 25% off ) only works for 1st payment. So if you pay monthly, and you are using 25% off coupon, then, you'll be expecting an invoice of a regular price for the 2nd month and the recurring months after that.

Thanks for starting this thread Col T - and Thanks Wp0102 For responding to my Question. I am definanlty swiching to a reseller account looks like the winner is Hostgator. I have Godaddy shared and fatcow now. Anyone have any experience with hostclear? They are cheaper and they have an unlimited plan unlike Hostgator for resellers. But, Hostgator is green and that's huge plus for me. So they are winning right now. They were also great answering my questions today. |

What I did was, I unknowingly choosed to pay monthly, and now I only get a discount for the first month, and I have to pay full price on the next months to come.
