Default Looking for software for wordpress task - any suggestions?

What I would love is a program or script that can automate some of what I do for every wordpress install--

this would include the list of sites for pinging that i have to copy and paste every time, automatically create pages based on templates (privacy policy, DMCA etc which I also have to copy/paste), set some of the settings I must set every time, etc.

Any suggestions?
Thanks

Sounds like you need more of a correctly placed database backup and restore with a script to update a couple of fields, to me. Most of the data you are talking about is stored in the SQL(mysql) database. You may want to try some of the wordpress developer forums. I know I have seen stuff on this subject there before.

Wp twin sounds like it would be the perfect thing for you. it clones any blog you have. so you can create a blog with everything you wish to clone (i.e. plugins, privacy policy page, contact page, categories, permalink structures, literally ANYTHING) and then you can "deploy" that clone on any new site you set up.

that's one of the ways I use it and it saves me about 3 hours each time. It works with any theme, even complex ones like thesis where if you set up certain theme settings for every blog you create, you'll NEVER have to do that again.

What about iMacro or a likewise plugin from Chrome? It registers all the things you do when installing. I guess you only need to change some urls and you're ready to go!

I gotta agree with Jason on this. I just bought it last week and copied a wordpress blog I am using as a lead capture for local painters and duplicated it in under 5 minutes with 20 plugins and all! I gotta say it saved me at least 4-5 hours of work from the last 3 sites I had to set up from scratch each time! This is a dream come true product I had been waiting for! Thanks again Jason.

I'll agree 'third'...

WPTwin (direct link) is an absolute must for any WP Owner,..

Sooner or later you'll think 'damn I wish I had a WPTwin backup',
for either rapid site replication or because some 'wanker' has just sent out an automated attack and hacked your blog...

with those crappy spam messages like;

### your blog waas hacked by a dumb wannabe hacker ###
